Initially, VU was great and I read the reviews and felt like I made a good choice. Unfortunately, as we got closer to closing we kept getting documents with errors on them. The math was wrong, or there was some amour that when you tried to reference what it was due to an explanation there was none. I don't understand how these errors weren't caught. We were not in the local area and it was a nightmare. I was asked for multiple copies of the same document. My Realtor had to constantly check up on things and right before closing VU underwriting decided that repairs needed to be done in a different way. It was so close to closing we had to just get the repairs finished before closing instead of holding funds in escrow. The appraisal took forever to get back with very little contact at all. The buyers agent had to call and email constantly with a final response that the appraiser was busy. Finally, and the real kicker, our closing date was set for months; my wife and I were flying in to close. We got off the plane and I had a message saying we wouldn't be able to close the next day. My wife was flying out the following day. I can't even tell you the hoops that the closing attorney and my wife and I had to then jump through. I lived 30 miles away from the closing attorney and was keeping my two kids of 2 and 4. My wife meanwhile had flown back to turn over our previous rental property. I had to visit the attorney at least four times. VU generated documents for my wife to sign prior to her return flight. She then got an email that she had to resign them because the date was wrong. She ended up buying a printer and overnighting the docs from California. We finally closed 4 days after our set closing date. This last part was probably on the attorney as well, but had we closed on the day we were supposed to it would have likely not been an issue whatsoever. To top it off, the reason we didn't close on time...something was copied unreadable and underwriting returned it. Once we knew we weren't closing VU asked for an updated document stating our closing date was changing. It took our realtor to read the contract close enough to know that it stated we had up to a 14 day deviation from the set closing date and no contract additions were necessary. This was my whole experience with VU; a serious lack of attention to detail and negligence. At the end all everyone looked to me because I chose the lender. I would not choose the same lender again. Horrible experience. On the good side, the team was always friendly and courteous and I felt like they did their best to make sure the buyer(me) got the most possible back at closing.
E eryone was fantastic and made our first time home buyinh experience a great one.
Great communication. We were still living overseas when we bought our home. Shannon and Alice did everything they could to make it as easy as possible. Thanks for everything!

Working with Veterans United was truly a great experience. The whole staff was wonderful and so kind and understanding. They took the time to answer our numerous questions and all our questions was answered in rapid response. We truly like to thank everyone for their kindness and patience.
I called not knowing what to expect, Matt and his team were wonderful people. My family and I couldn't be happier with the result.
I would recommend any veteran looking to buy a home that they go with Veterans United. The personnel they have provide excellent service.
From start to finish Barbra and I was so happy with the services provided to us. FYI USAA underwriters did not give us an extension on our financial situation therefore we had to cancel the pre-approval with them. WE highly recommend United Veterans Home Loan.
I would also like to thank our transaction coordinator Kendall. On more than one occasion, Kendall would follow up with us after hours on her own personal time to make sure all transactions were smooth. Having found out our son was diagnosed with a potential life threatening illness in the middle of our sale was difficult. Janeanne and Kendall were amazing and we couldnt have gotten through this entire process without their help. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts!

Great experience. professional staff. easy to work with. had my doubts about doing a home loan via the internet but it truly was as easy and stress free as doing a loan locally.
