I would recommend that VU be your first option when looking to buy a home. I tried three other lenders before Veterans United. One was a big national brand which was great for insurance, but not so much for home loans. The other two were local lenders and they just lacked the experience and knowledge of how VA loans work. VU is by far the best option! I’m a home owner!!!

My application for a VA loan was on a home in the early stages of construction. Veterans should not apply for a VA loan on new construction until within 30 days of a confirmed closing date by the builder. Approval of a mortgage loan is contingent upon the lender having an Appraisal completed on the property and this cannot be accomplished until construction is complete on the property. Also, the buyer of the property must sign that he/she has reviewed the Appraisal within three days of closing. So, veterans buying new construction should not begin the mortgage loan process too early.
