As a first time home buyer having been moved all over the world for 20 years by the military and the disaster that usually is, I was utterly shocked how smoothly and efficiently this operation went. I kept waiting for something bad to happen, but it never did. If you are looking for a lender who will not only educate you about the process, but actually assist you, Veterans United should be your first choice.
Use VU for any home purchases or refinance as a veteran. They will maximize our benefits.
Wouldn’t work with any other lender.
The whole process with Veterans United was an easy, pain free experience. They are with you every step of the way, ready and willing to answer any questions. Once we found the right place, everything went smoothly and quickly with VU. The realtor that was referred to us by VU was amazing and remained patient with us even as we had to put our home search on hold for about a year. Having him on our team while going through the process was a blessing.Overall, Veterans United has you covered when you are ready to buy a home. I'm a first time home buyer and the process was simple and stress free with their help.
Joel and his team are more than willing to go that extra mile to see the loan process through to the end. It was a very pleasurable experience dealing with them. By the way this is the third loan process they have worked out for me and I so much appreciate the way they conduct themselves throughout the process. Highly professional!!

Veterans United is a one stop shop that doesn’t make you feel like their pushing an agenda on you. They provide links and contacts to multiple services/ organizations to secure your loan, home, utilities, and security. These people are fantastic!
Final Closing costs calculations need to be way more accurate. I was told $80 to close then $500 to close then ended up being $1150 (Credit) at closing.

****CUSTOMER BEWARE****
Let me begin by saying that I am one of those people that never feel strongly enough about something, good or bad, to ever leave a review. In my life, I have maybe left 2-3 reviews about a product or a service. I have always been very understanding about the everyday obstacles that products and companied face, and have always tried to go out of my way to give all involved every chance to redeem themselves. However, as much as I tried with this company, they continually let me down again and again. I have been a member of Navy Federal Credit Union for 25 years, and have been through the home buying/refi process numerous times. I have dealt with NFCU in the past, and have been blown away with how smooth and effortless they made the entire process. It is for this reason that I knew that I should just go with them again on this loan, but after talking with Veterans United, I was promised a SUPER quick closing date, as well as a streamlined process to get the loan closed ASAP. DO NOT FALL FOR THESE PROMISES!!!! Not only did it take over 3 months to get my loan closed (over six weeks longer then the initial closing date that was given), but the process as a whole was a disorganized mess! If something needed done, it fell on my shoulders to make it happen, even when it CLEARLY should not have been my responsibility. The paperwork that was needed from me was turned in immediately, and I checked in by phone/email or via their website DAILY. I am sure that this review will be followed with the whole “we’re sorry about your experience, but please reach out to our Customer Advocates so that we can help ensure that this doesn’t happen again”. Well…….I did already, and I didn’t get a call back. I called A LOT actually, and STILL didn’t get a call back. When concerns were raised, there was no “fix” given. There was no intent or effort on their part to make it as right as they could. This company will get you sucked in with false promises and half-truths and it is not until you are too deep into the process to get out that you finally see them for what they are. DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!!! Look somewhere else for your home loan. It is too important of a step in your life to risk it with this company!!! There are just too many companies out there that offer better rates, cheaper loans, substantially better service then Veterans United. Don’t fall for their promises that they can’t back up. Shop around and thank me later!

Hello Joshua, we appreciate your feedback on this matter. We understand the stress involved when an unexpected complication delays a home closing. While there are aspects of the loan process that can only take place once all conditions have been satisfied; it is important that we take all feedback into account and look for ways to promote an excellent customer experience. We are dedicated to making clear requests and assisting customers in providing documentation that is necessary for loan approval. We know how tiresome it can be to tackle paperwork head on each day. For this reason, it is our goal to guide you every step of the way and make the process seem as easy as possible. Our team will be researching your appraisal process to determine what our team may do in the future to help prevent a similar closing delay. The appraisal process is managed directly by the Department of Veterans Affairs, and we understand how the home buying process can become stressful when working to overcome an unexpected delay. we appreciate the chance to hear from you and we understand that the communication may not have exceeded expectations. We want everyone to feel that we go above and beyond to deliver outstanding service. You have helped us understand one critical way we might improve our service. So much effort goes into every loan application to meet expectations for communication. A member of our Client Advocate team has attempted to reach you and we invite you to connect with us further.
