As a fellow veteran, we often experience setbacks in the civilian sector, simply because it doesn't truly grasp the concept of the extreme structure we have to endure. After serving, we are then suddenly discharged back into an unstructured environment (comparatively) and expected to conform to what we consider mayhem. As such, many of us experience mental illness, homelessness, rejection from family and friends, and the inability to transition smoothly back into the free world. This is but a brief prelude of the typical experience we veterans endure. I say that because once we get our bearings and are able to move forward in a positive direction in our lives, buying a home is one of the greatest achievements we can accomplish that I think so many others take for granted.
