Listen. If you are serious about owning a home, Veterans United is definitely a preferred option, in my opinion. The steps it took to purchasing our home was frustrating to say the least. In my wife and I case, we were purchasing from our landlord, so a realtor wasn't necessary. However, gathering the necessary documents, coordinating with the different agencies like appraisals, home inspections, insurance, title company, and loads of paperwork, signatures, and questions are still very much a part of the process. Our team, Nick Holman, Courtney Gully, Francie Greene, and the rest of their supporting members were there from the first phone until the closing on our home. They fielded every question, listened to all of our frustration, guided us through the whole process step by step, and we're encouraging, patient, professional, and, most of all, very polite, friendly, and engaging whenever we were in contact with them. I mean they kept in touch by phone, text, and email. Even sent us mail. Who does that in this technology age? Seriously, they were the best team my wife and I could ask for in communicating with us and our landlord to make this dream a reality!! Jamie was very helpful with every detail. The only problems I had was when the appraisal was due, I thought that was to be paid for as part of the cash at closing funds, because in the loan estimate that is where it showed up. I was not informed that I had to pay for the appraisal before it would be done. Once that was made clear, I paid it immediately. The other issue, not a big one, but still not as it should have been, is that they use a property tax estimation system instead of getting the actual extant property taxes which I gave them, so their calculated monthly payment was off by the error in their property tax estimation system. Why use an estimation system when the actual data is known and well documented?
