3 months ago I was not sure if I was going to be able to purchase a home. I filled out some info online and immediately received a phone call back. I had a couple things to clean up on my credit, so they directed me to their lighthouse program. These guys told me exactly what i had to do to get my preapproval. Within a couple weeks, I was preapproved and able to submit an offer on my home. My Veterans United loan team worked closely with my realtor and I to make the journey to closing fun and easy. I would absolutely recommend Veterans United. They want you to get the home of your dreams.
The additional documentation required by the Underwriter is ridiculous. I will probably not go with Veteran's United for my next loan simply for this reason. The Underwriter wanted paperwork that, in my opinion, was superfluous to documentation already provided. Additionally, the Underwriter did not apply what I would consider "reasonableness" is assessing the documentation. It appeared He/She was simply operating off of a "checklist". There was no personal service from the Underwriter.

My loan officer Jason Polk with outstanding And always a true gentleman. The only issue I had was some redundant paperwork which I'm sure is required by the agency however my request was that the process be made easier for veterans and not harder.
Veterans United held our hand through the whole home buying process. Being first time home buyers they sent educational webinars through every part of the home buying experience. The webinars were a great help in understanding where we were in the home buying experience, what to do and what not to do. I suggest, once you get the webinars to watch them, they are not very long and will teach you some much.
This is the second time I have worked with Veterans United. Both times have been very comfortable and stress free. They have friendly and helpful finance teams (my team lead by Jon McCarty) who make the experience very positive.I would definitely use them again if the opportunity arose!
