Do yourself a favor avoid Veterans United and find a loan officer that you have a personal recommendation for. Veterans United had great reviews online, but our loan officer failed to deliver, he missed the closing date which should be cause for concern. We even spent an extra 45mins at the signing table trying to sort out all of the errors they made on the loan documents. I could go on but I will save you from reliving my terrible experience with this company. Bottom line is that by using Veterans united enormous amounts of stress were added to an already stressful situation.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Chad, thanks for keeping us in the loop and for sharing your experience. We understand the stress involved when an unexpected complication delays a home closing. While there are aspects of the loan process that can only take place once all conditions have been satisfied; it is vital that we take all feedback into account and look for ways to promote an excellent customer experience.
We didn't think we would get a loan because of some recent financial issues regarding a previous VA home loan. VU took the bull by the horns and got the loan done. We really appreciate the hard work and determination of our representative. 10 out of 10!
I prefer yes or no answers when using a number scale. I also always leave room for improvement.. Veterans United did an awesome job for my wife and I. They seemed to work extremely hard to assist us in getting the mortgage done. Thank you.
This home-buying experience has been very positive, and I would highly recommend Dan Hopkins and his Team at Veterans United with no hesitation whatsoever! If you're looking to purchase your home, I would reach out to Dan without delay!
This was the smoothest refinance process we ever experienced.
Quite easy to complete loan process once all info was provided. Very good experience
I found that Veterans United went above and beyond what most Mortgage Lenders do for Veteran Home buyers. Over the years I have had several VA Approved Loans and Veterans United made it as smoothly as any Lender I have ever dealt with. They stayed in touch with all parties concerned in the transaction to ensure I got my Home. Thanks Veterans United. Well Done. Carl Davis
This is my 2nd time using Veterans United and both experiences were outstanding.

Veterans United is a great company! The loan officer and his team were extremely professional and was always there if you needed anything! Every time i called with a question they knew exactly who i was and was familiar with my loan without having to look it up! Very personal experience! Highly recommend!
Everyone was amazing. Helped us get into our home a little faster than normal because we lost everything in a fire. Everything was pretty was easy and Seth and Morgan werected always there to answer any questions that came up.
If you are looking for a streamlined and quick home purchase, Veterans United is the way to go. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The process was very easy and straight forward.
It wet well, overall a good experience
Great good of guys and gals, the whole process made it seem like we were a part of an extended family.
The only thing that concerned me was the lack of communication between the funding company and me concerning the funds transfer and payoffs. I received no communications that the wire transfer did not take place and to expect a check delivered to my home via FedEx that did not require a signature.

I could not ask for a better home buying experience. You hear negative comments about the VA loan process about how slow they are. It’s not true! These people have your back and truly watch out for you. You just need to follow the to do list as they give which is an awesome tool. It is like following the yellow brick road. They give you the steps and you follow them. They are there for you and guide you along 24/7. We were to be homeless and VU got in our home just in time! There is a lot of work behind the scenes we don’t know about and they work so hard. They take care of veterans. We now live in a beautiful home of our dreams and could not have done this without them.
Great team to work with.
Working with Veterans United was a pleasure, They where always there to help you when you ask for it
Ben and his team made this process as smooth as it could have been. Kat was especially fantastic and patient with me the entire way.
Very attentive and personable, which makes all the difference. Their team of experts were never in a rush and were totally reachable and transparent through the entire process. For us, who are total rookies (first time homeowners), they explained in plain English every step and there were no surprises whatsoever. The closing process was also smooth and our home was funded the same evening, which was after 5pm I might add! We highly recommended Veterans United!
Streamline the process. I have bought and sold 5 houses and by far this was my most difficult one. and there should be a window or a calendar were you have to meet certain deadlines with your paperwork. I know that the closing on the AL was contingent on the sale of the TN house but it was a tad scary when we are changing closing time the day before. that made a hard situation for my family even harder. IE the move. But over all Chris was great to work with and he did a great job communicating with me throughout the whole process.

Randy, we really appreciate your honest review and the constructive feedback you have provided. We are glad that some aspects went well; however, we understand the added stress involved with selling a property while purchasing another. Our Client Advocate team will review the events that led up to your closing looking for ways to simplify the process in the future.
