I normally don't do surveys unless they are exceptional. And I hardly ever leave written statements. However this is done for one reason, the overwhelming since of gratitude we have for Matthew and his team. Not only was he professional at all times, and listened to our concerns, he went above and beyond, and truly cares. Please if I can ask of only one thing, please please, take the time out and give him a special thanks, not only for doing his job, but doing it with the service that makes a lifetime customer. For such high reviews, I expect a better experience. I waited over a month after closing to write this review to make sure my review wasnt a knee jerk reaction.Preapproval was maybe a month before we were under contract and our interest rate went up .5% which increased our mortgage almost $100/mo. Communication was poor at the end and it really ruined our first home buying experience. We missed our original closing date due to the VA appraiser and then I have no idea what the hold up was because no one communicated with us. Then, my son was admitted to the hospital enexpectedly, which I told them about, and then I got a phone call later that day telling us that closing was a going to be that day (no previous notification) and we were basically supposed to handle it ourselves without a closing agent. We won't be using Veterans United again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. We won't have anymore interactions with them anyway because they sold our loan before we even moved into our house! The only good things that came from them was that we were assigned an excellent realtor and we ultimately got the house we wanted.

This is a nerve wracking experience: there are sooooo many things happening and you are 'lucky' if you understand 50% of what you are signing. VU WILL see you through this. They encourage questions and answer in a timely manner.
