Our overall experience was excellent. There was a hiccup with the ordering of the appraisal due to miscommunication between the loan officer, underwriting, and realtor. This miscommunication went on for nearly a week which frustrated me. I apologize for losing my temper with the angry (yet tactful) text I sent to Sam and Scott.
This whole process couldn’t have gone any smoother. Very stress free.
I am not a fan of excessive fees. I think the origination fee takes advantage of a home buyer. I also think that being upfront with all fees and rates when you start the loan process is importnstn
The loan process was slow. I continually had to make the contact to access status of my loan. I have over 800 credit score with 40% down - $100,000 but was continually made to feel that I was somehow trying to defraud VU. I was talked down to by loan officer who continually showed exasperation at my lack of knowledge of mortgage processes. I would never use or recommend VU again.

Matt's knowledge of the VA loan process, associated cost and rules of the program made it easier for our realtor to help us find a house and work with the selling agent on the transaction itself.
There were no problems. Everyone was helpful with any questions I had. For the most part the questions were answered in a timely fashion, sometimes right away.

The team answered every single question even if it was a minor question. If we didn’t understand something the took time to explain it. This team seemed to work great together and we are so blessed to have gotten them.
