United Veterans was great! The only thing I was confused about was after my home closed, I received an email asking to spread the word. The email stated that VU pays for the appraisal but we paid for ours. Just a bit confusing.

Tommy Purk was awesome throughout the entire process making sure we were taken care of.
Process seemed overly complicated and repetitive. Had to submit multiple form multiple times because they expired. Took way too long to close. Had offer in April and took until August 1st to close. In April I had already thought I was so far ahead in the approval process based on working a commitment letter for a previous offer. Had a rate lock expire in June. Then looked toward closing in early July. Then finally had a closing scheduled 7/27 but found at out the end of the day prior to closing that VU didn't schedule a settlement agent to represent you during the closing. My lawyer said he couldn't do it weeks before and provided reccomations for somenthat could. Finally closed 8/1 after more last minute items that needed to be redone. Ross was very nice and helpful. He seemed to have the necessary answers and was very reassuring in the whole process. Not sure where the disconnect was. I have purchased multiple houses and this was by far the most difficult and frustrating one. My previous VA loan through Quicken was very simple and closed fast. I probably should have just used them again. Not sure why I didn't.
