Overall the process was smooth. It was difficult being a service member overseas trying to coordinate everything. Working the homeowners insurance was confusing and seemed like we were only being offered very expensive quotes. USAA insurance was much cheaper for the same coverage. Coordinating the closing documents with the title company was also confusing and not a lot of communication, leaving unsure what we were supposed to do the day of closing. I know this was just part of the difficulties being overseas, but earlier communication would’ve helped.

I was so pleasantly surprised in how quickly they answer questions and helpful every single team member that was assigned to me in this adventure we call homeownership were to me. Then out of nowhere we get a personalized handwritten card (not some premade and stamped) from my team manager Kelly (she is great!) along with a lovely picture of a map in a frame of our new address. This was honestly the best process I've ever had. Joseph, Alyssa and the rest of the team (I can't remember all of the names) are phenomenal. I'm telling other Vet buddies of mine about VU and Joe's team. Truly can't say enough! I'll say this, between my realtor and Joe's team, I felt at ease in letting them do their thing. That might not be a good thing, but I trusted them to do right by me.I will say the negative is the website's message about using cookies won't go away and blocks part of the page. This is even worse on a mobile device.
