I talked to a a couple other Lendors who did VA loans. After waiting for a couple weeks on a couple questions I had I decided to contact Veterans United. In less than 8 hours I had answers to all of my questions and within a week I was pre-approved. About 5 days later my previous lender emailed me to say they have been unable to find an answer to my questions. That spoke volumes to me.

Everything was great, and both Grant and Dmitri were very helpful. My only tiny complaint (hardly worth even mentioning) was that I feel that the process for dealing with the credit card balance that I had, was not explained clearly enough. If I had known what a huge pain it would be to have that balance, I would have paid it off before I actually applied for the loan. On the day I did apply, Grant told me that by paying it off on closing day, I could possibly lower my down payment. Not only did it not lower it, but it became a huge hassle to pay with a check from title, and I had to carry a balance which charged me interest. I pay the card off every month, so that is not ideal for me. It's all done with now, but if I had known that I could have just paid it off as always, before applying, I would have.
It was a very long process and to many people involved and a lot of miscommunication; to many different departments involved. Over all it was an ok experience considering this was my first home purchase.
