As a first time buyer I was inexperience about all the parts involved when buying a house. I think it would make the process much smoother if the buyer was fully informed about his responsibilities.

My loan officers Eric Soete and Dustin Fritz have lied to me from the beginning and the advocate agreedfirst they will tell you anything to get your business and then the lies begin, I was told by Eric I would get a 3.3 percent loan he would lock it in when the time was right, about a week before my scheduled closing Dustin informed me that the rate was 3.8% I was told no body locked it in and now it was 3.8% nothing could be done, after calling the advocate Jake was able to it back to a 3.5% . I was told they had to talk to the investors in order to buy it down to the 3.5%. I was told it is only $50.00 more a month, I am retired and a disabled veteran, we were told we were looking good for a June 12th closing this was on Monday the 10th, well that didnt happen, we didnt close till Friday the 15th, this delay forced us to make numerious phone calls to reschedule cleaning co. carper co. tv,phone trash service , even on the 15th (closing day) it took 3 hours we waited at the title company for someone to release the money to complete the transaction both Eric and Dustin had left for the day , I was told since we had to live in a Hotel for several days and was told to keep my receipts I can hardly wait what this will bring, all in all this was the worst experience of my life, by the way since I was disabled veteran the fees would be waived I paid $1880.00 in fees and was further told my closing would be no ware near #6000.00 yea it was $400.00 less. We still have not received several papers we were supposed to ( appraisal and several others) the title company informed us that they have never ever worked with such a horrible company . I could not and will not recommend Veterans United Home Loans to anyone. Having checked with the Better Business Bureau about there complaints I can see why, no communication no call backs ,no e-mails , lies lies lies.
Discuss debt to income ratios during pre-qualification and pre-approval process, not the day closing is scheduled.
