The process of purchasing a home through Veteran's United was very smooth and with littoe to no stress throughout the process. I would highly recommend them for other veteran's looking to find their forever homes! I couldn't ask for more! From my family to yours, Thank You All!!!
In the end, what is already a very stressful process, was emotionally devastating to me. I should have at least been happy to close on a new house. Instead, it was bittersweet because I lost $32k which was over half my life savings. My mom had to give me $32k of her money to cover the down payment so we wouldn't lose our money and the house. She is a retired widow on a fixed income. We were very fortunate that she could help us so we didn't lose everything and end up homeless. I'm very angry about the situation. It has caused me extreme emotional distress. I've been literally sick and crying daily over it. I never wanted/expected my parents to have to support me financially at 45 years old. Having to accept that money from my mom's retirement fund killed a part of me. I'll never get over it. I've been defrauded and abused in the worst way. Someone was able to get access to my files and take advantage of me when I was in the vulnerable state of buying a house.
First off my wife and I are thankful to God for this opportunity of buying a home. Even tho the military life is hard for both soldiers and their family, and relocating is a disaster, no matter how you put it. We are privileged to have had the chance to have people like Jon , Becca and McGehee in our home buying experience. Not only did they do their job but they went on and beyong to get us approve, and to make this dream come true. There is no word to express the feelings of gratitude we feel towards this individuals, and VU as a team. I wish sincerely, that all those young adults, veterans and active duty, as well as their respective family, have people like this by their side on this beautiful and tedious journey. Desperation, frustration, anxiety will come, but putting God first will guide you, and put the right people next to you. This was our experience. Coming to the unknown first PCS and first home. If anyone is looking for a team that will not only do their job, but give you that sense that they are doing this as if it was their own home, this is the team you want with you. We are now the new owners of a beautiful one family home in Texas and we Love it. The American dream is still true, and is still there, and this team will help you achieve it. If you are going to embark on this happy and joyful journey, best assure you do it with the right people, and this is it. God bless you all, God bless America.
Provided we had a little trouble toward the end with the closing documents, I have to say everything was pretty smooth sailing the whole way through. Everything was easy to understand and having the app made things even less complicated. It was overall a great experience.
