My experience as a first time home buyer was absolutely wonderful! No matter when I had questions, Jake McQuitty took care of us. Regardless of the complexity. My first experience with VU was phenomenal. My second loan experience with them was a bit of a let down. They charged me fees on things that I don't think they should have. All of the small fees add up. When someone is buying a home, they need to save as much as possible. There are way too many unnecessary fees, perhaps VU could downsize its unnecessary personnel and programs, and that would allow it to cut out some of the fees.

I understand how frustrating it can feel when costs add up, especially when you’re trying to be as financially prepared as possible during a home purchase.
Concerns about fees are important. You should always feel clear about what you’re being charged for and why. While many costs in a mortgage transaction are standard or third-party related, that does not lessen the impact they have on you. If anything felt unnecessary or insufficiently explained, that’s something I would want to review.

Stay calm and just let the process work it will be over sooner than you think
Veterans United could not make it any easier to buy a home or refinance. We have done both in the past year and have really appreciated their help and enjoyed working with them. Keep in mind you have to be willing to do the work! Get your ducks in a row and be realistic about your home buying expectations. Respond to emails and upload requested documents in a timely fashion and things will go smoothly. You can't go wrong with Veterans United!!
