I have worked for various civilian and governmental entities to include; the Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Defense, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During my tenure with these highly professional and competent agencies, I had a front row seat to, not only, some of the brightest experts within their craft, but to the level of professionalism and dedication that is necessary to serve at those levels.
The competence of my Veterans United loan specialist and his team, was no exception!! I was always kept abreast of the status of my file and the personal touch that was consistently applied to me and my family was not only extremely comforting, but it showed me how the mortgage process can be....and should be!
From the bottom of our hearts.....thank you Harris and Lisa......thank you Veteran's United!!!
Justin and Amanda Gragg with family, Maggie, Corrie, Johannah, Hezekiah, and baby#5 (TBD)!!
Absolutely wonderful first time home buying experience. I am very glad that I did business with them instead of other mortgage companies.
See above - Nick met our needs as buyers and worked well with a somewhat pushy real estate agent who had several linked closings. That made it difficult for everyone. But we closed and I give Nick credit for getting the job done. I'm sure he learned from our loan situation and that will serve him well over his career. Again - thanks NIck and we'll be in touch.
Our families experience with Veterans United was the epitome of simply and forward. From our Realtor to our Loan officer their knowledge and guidance of the entire process enabled us too make an informed and family fitting decision in our cross country home purchase. They met and exceeded our timelines and allowed us to close our home days within our actually move. They took the stress out of the whole process and I will be actively suggesting them to all my fellow veterans and friends in their own home search.
I needed a lot of work on my credit. but they stayed with me ,,, until I was done it took longer but it was my credit that needed to be fixed then moved forward,,,, we made it and closed the 4th of July weekend,,,it felt good!

Fighting in war was easy for me I suffered losses. I got injured and it seemed that the battle at home was greater than those anticipated on the battle field. I never want recognition for anything I have done as a soldier or a veteran. I fought for my country and our way of life the hardest part was making those who didn't serve understand the sacrifices. These people cared when most would just turn their backs and say figure it out they took me step by step through the process. They treated me as if I was human and not a buyer with a good credit score. They took a divorced, homeless, and disabled veteran suffering from chronic PTSD and other war related injuries and gave me a chance to be a home owner, husband and father again. Making me feel like my sacrifice and the sacrifices of others were not in vain.
This is my 4th house and I have been through the mortgage loan process 4 times. This was the worse. We were sent papers to sign without much explanation. I often felt that I was signing things that I really did not understand. i will never do long distance banking again. Effective communication is of the utmost importance when you cannot address a person face-to-face. I understand that because of the industry crash a couple of years ago, more paperwork is necessary to protect the bank's interest. But, you must also educate your clients who know nothing of the inner workings of the industry and the legal jargon of the papers. I did not like being surprised at the closing to see flood insurance added by the bank, when I told them I was looking into it with my private insurance company. Plus, the mix-up of whether the property was truly in a flood plain was never resolved. I am trying to get to the bottom of it now so that I can get my money back. Even if I had to pay for flood insurance, I had my own insurance company, who quoted a figure $30 less than the bank. I was never told that they would add and charge me for this insurance. My closing took 4 hours because of erroneous information, re-do of papers, etc.. At the closing, we were told that our insurance had to be in escrow. I should have been told that when I requested "no escrow" at the beginning of the loan process.
Mike Mange and his team handled the loan for my husband and I. They are great to work with. You can ask a question that you may think is stupid, but they are right there quick with an answer. They have wonderful communication skills, absolutely no waiting for your question to be answered.
Gary Sleddins was our agent provided by Mike and his team. He is just great to work with. He too will answer all questions quickly and is very prompt in taking you to view homes.
There aren't enough words of praise I can say about this team. They all made our first home buying experience the best.
