I was very skeptical about doing a VA loan. I have been out of the service for over 20 years and have heard nothing positive about a VA home loan. I'm glad I gave it try. This was extremely painless and as easy as riding a bike.
It went great. Everything was very straightforward and the team answered all my questions in a reasonable amount of time. Underwriting took a long but expected amount of time. I'm not sure this could be improved but it seemed like it would be better if they told you everything that needed to be done from the beginning. The beginning seems like a "hurry up and wait" process. Then there was about a month of Underwriting. Then another "hurry up" process at the end. Overall, it was a great process with a very easy to use interface for first time home buyers.
The entire VU team was fantastic throughout the entire process! They were always available when I had questions about the process. Any time there was a road block they called me right away and worked around the clock to fox it. The day before closing an addendum was submitted that changed the entire parameters of the loan agreement so the contract had to be rewritten. Within a few hours they reworked all the paperwork with the title company resulting in us being able to close the next day.

Made this process less stressful than what I expected it to be. Definitely would be using again if I were to purchase another home.
