Bill and his team went well above and beyond. The whole process went far smoother than I expected.
Outstanding!
My officers were. Katie Smith and Gray Grimm and they helped us through everything. The app made everything so much easier and they explained everything and answered quickly all of our concerns.
OUTSTANDING OUTSTANDING TEAM!!!!!!!
We are very grateful for Trish Cole! She came in at time where everyone else we had tried had failed us. Therefore, we were really apprehensive about trying another company but once we met Trish she eased our fears. My husband is a retired Army Soldier, who suffers from P.T.S.D. and just about any episode can set him off. However, everything about our home buying process went smoothly. I love the fact that you have a secure portal to place all of your documents in versus putting it in an email. This is what sets Veterans United apart from the rest. Thank you Trish for assisting us with the purchase of our lifetime!
I went though the entire home loan/buying process while deployed overseas and Veterans United made it such an easy and pain free process. I was thoroughly impressed and happy.
Was a patient process and streamlined information
My team people Brice Tyler Hannah Zac were always there for me when ever I called - polite, helpful and friendly . There is a lot of paperwork but with a great team that is very encouraging you will be successful in obtaining a home My team was outstanding Thank you all for your patience and efforts.

Experience first-hand why 375,536 homeowners give us a perfect score!
Ryan and Kelly were great during this experience. They answered calls frequently and when I couldn’t reach them, they called back quickly.Reliable and knowledgeable about every question we had. I am absolutely going to tell veterans to look to you guys when buying a home
Veterans United made the home buying process for us first time home buyers very easy! They helped us with everything along the way, including setting us up with a realtor in the area we were looking in! They stayed on top of everything and made sure that we were prepared for everything along the way! I love how everything can be done online, the to-do list made things so much easier for me, being able to see what still needs to be done and what has been completed in such a user-friendly fashion. I don’t have any other company to compare them to, but we had such a great experience that I’m sure if we ever buy another home, Veteran’s United will have our business again!
Easy, had all the help we needed to get through this home buying situation
Bill was great to work with . Made this whole process smooth and fast .
Veterans United helped me more than any other lender. They truly worked with me to get what I needed.
Veterans United did a great job getting us the house we wanted while walking us through the process.
This is supposed to be a VA home loan, not conventional. I should not be paying PMI. I also do not pay County taxes so that portion of escrow is incorrect. I only pay homeowners insurance. So, where's all that extra money going? Not to me, not towards hazard insurance...
Of course, it's my fault that I didn't see this when signing original mortgage documents so I'm just getting screwed. Not anymore, I'm refinancing with another lender who can do it right. This is disgusting.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Nicole,
I’m really sorry this situation has been so frustrating, especially when it feels like the numbers don’t add up.
I do want to clarify a couple of key points based on your concerns. Your loan was structured as a conventional loan from the beginning of the process (contract to closing). When using second-tier entitlement while retaining another property, there are specific limits, including loan amount and occupancy requirements, that can impact VA eligibility. In those cases, a conventional loan may be the path forward, and that structure would have been reflected in the documents throughout the process.
Regarding escrow, I want to be clear that property taxes were not included in your escrow setup. Based on your exemption status and the final closing documents, escrow was established for homeowners insurance, not county taxes. If you’re seeing a higher payment than expected, I completely understand why that would raise concerns, and I’d like to help break down exactly how those figures are being applied.
You deserve a clear and transparent explanation of your loan and payment, and I’d really appreciate the opportunity to review everything with you one-on-one.
Please reach out to my team at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and we’ll follow up the next business day if you contact us after hours.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
