Joel and his team has helped me several times and each time it has gone without incident. They are professionals and easy to work with. I highly recommend them to fellow veterans looking to either refinance or purchasing a new home! Thanks for all you do!
Can’t get any response regarding my statement after refinancing. My $6k buydown has disappeared.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Troy,
I’m really sorry to hear you haven’t been able to get clarity on your statement and that your buydown funds don’t appear as expected. I can understand how concerning and frustrating that must feel. That’s definitely something we want to look into right away.
Please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com so we can review your file and make sure everything is accounted for correctly. Our Client Advocate team is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
Veterans United has been the best experience I have had for home buying. It was your team that made our dream of being a homeowner possible. Your team was the most professional, customer oriented, and, most importantly, most caring and experienced that I have ever met. It started with the Lighthouse team and Ms Bobbie Hafford that worked with us for over a year to get our credit up to where it needed to be. She always reached out to us, kept us motivated, and kept us progressing to our goal of being a homebuyer. Once we were qualified my home loan specialist Seth reached out to us within an hour of being qualified and even though he had engagements with his family and it was late he always took the time to answer our calls, kept us informed, and kept our loan and pre approval moving. He motivated his team and even though it was late on a Friday Lucas stepped in and together we were able to be pre approved that same day. Seth Wilmes, Lucas Hassemer, and Morgan Luster always was prompt to return calls and texts and always was kind, informative and dedicated to our loan needs. Without these dedicated and caring professionals my family's dreams of owning our first home may have never came true. Thank you Seth, Bobbie, Lucas, and Morgan. And thank you to the Veterans United Team. My loan officer Seth Wilmes is one in a million. He is caring, professional, exceptionally proficient, ethical, and passionate about his job and exceptional customer service. Always available or quick to respond with my questions and I do believe he was always fully engaged and dedicated his time to me when i had the first time buyer many questions. He took the time to fully answer my spouse and I's questions fully and professionally. I will always refer Seth and his team as well as Veterans United to all of my friends, family, and associates that are starting the home buying or refinancing journey.
Veterans United has lived up to their reputation every time we have dealt with them. They put the veteran first and do everything they can to make it an easy, painless process.
The entire Veterans United team made my home buying experience smooth and trouble free. I wish I did not waste my time on any other mortgage companies.

Being I have had 4 houses before. Working with Veterans United was a breeze compared to what I went through with the other homes I purchased. Everybody was on board with throughout the process and made it so easy.
The entire loan team at VU was outstanding. Liz, Michael, and more did a phenomenal job making the process simple and kept us informed all along the way. Would highly recommend VU moving forward.
The loan team that we have specifically, Dan has been out outstanding and extremely helpful
Veterans United made the entire process so easy. It was such a wonderful experience.
I would recommend my peers to at least shop around first as I essentially went straight to VU due to a recommendation from a friend who had a great experience.VU does a very good job at streamlining the process almost to a detriment, many times I felt confused as to exactly what needed to be completed because sometimes some of the "checklist" items on my landing page lacked context or specific instructions, this led to things being checked/ asked for last minute or even delaying closing. Additionally, I worked with several different people with different roles, and they never really defined what those roles where, so when I went to ask a question, often times I didn't know who to go to.I mostly worked through a "loan coordinator" who while they were cordial, I had a hard time getting ahold of their office. I had a few times where I called without answer or even left a message that was never responded to. When I did finally get ahold of them, they didn't seem to have many answers on hand and would have to go track them down, they also seemed to follow up on things last minute, leaving us to have to scramble to get requisite answers or follow-up paperwork. I just felt as though all these factors contributed to a delay in the process.Overall I had a decent experience with VU and maybe I had had a bad luck of the draw between the situation I was in, and people assigned to me. My recommendation to others if that if you go with VU, learn everyone's role and be proactive on your loan process.
Excellence in the mortgage industry = Veterans United.A new standard has been set by the good people of Veterans United with a streamlined process and outstanding customer service.
Benji Edward and Christine were awesome to work with made everything seem easy and it was quick to get my home.
Nothing compares to working with Sheldon Turek at Veterans United! He has helped me with multiple loans now. As a real estate investor, I have had a handful of experiences with different loan officers and companies. Nothing compares to working with Sheldon and his team at VU.They are top notch professional service. The process is always made simple, smooth, and the communication is impeccable. Not only would I recommend, but I do personally recommend them to people all of the time.
Everyone was so helpful. We had a little bump in the road, but it was handled swiftly.
As a first time home buyer and VA loan user they made the process as painless as possible and broke it all down step by step and always answered any questions I had
