Tried twice to secure a loan, both in same retirement community. 1st was denied day before closing because HUD info could not be verified. Thought 2nd would be smoother since preliminary info already obtained. Every step caused more issues, last minute requests usually required close to weekends so couldn’t get done til Monday, constant delays and set backs. The seller was so frustrated by delays, she called structural engineer to clear the way!! I would suggest a list be provided at beginning of process so buyer knows what to expect ABD can start working on getting everything needed. I. My case, I was in SC clearing out last items from house trying to sell, was contacted about payoff info needed next day! I was traveling, couldn’t get timely info from customer service from bank, had to drive an hour out of my way to find a branch to get the info needed to email the closing company do I could finally close the next day. This could have been avoided if I had been told to get info when we knew we were paying off other debt!!

My overall experience with Veterans United was amazing. From the beginning with the credit team to rebuild my credit they were friendly and helpful with what I needed to pay off or improve. My home buying experience was not as stressful as many warned me about. I worked with Leah Maloney and she along with her team were awesome! I really love the portal app which made sending and receiving information and documents very smooth. Being a first time buyer, Leah answered my questions and helped me to breathe easy during the process. The portal works, so when asked to fill out, sign or review any documents, the faster you comply the sooner you will be at signing. I put in an offer for the home I wanted the first part of December 2018 and by February 2019, I was closing on my first brand new home! Thank you Veterans United!
