The only thing I’d do to improve the VU buying experience would be to add a “to-do” of transferring deposits to the right account about a week in advance of closing. It didn’t end up being an issue for us but we cut it close because we didn’t know when to start moving money around. Although this is our 2nd house we’ve bought , it had been 4 years since we did the closing process and a reminder a week ahead of time can alleviate stress on closing day. Other than that everything was very smooth !
You all did a awesome job so glad we have you all on our team thank you so much
Chris and Felicia have been so vital in my first time using the Va loan plus this long process. I understand that they have a job to do and it can be stress for the borrower especially im the underwriting process but this loan team here knocked it out the ball park for me and my wife. I thank you Chris for being so patient with me. You and Felicia deserve either a big bonus or raise. Your boss need to know that your professionalism and your character is what is needed more in the customer service world. Thank you so much. I pray in the name of Jesus that he continue to bless you and block the enemy attacks because yall did a an amazing job. Thank you
The entire process was amazing with Jake being the real MVP. Anytime we had a question or didn’t know what to do he would take the initiative and jump in to provide us with the information we needed to keep the process moving. During the whole experience we felt like our best interest was being not only considered but pursued. My family and I are extremely grateful for the hard work and patience of the team. Praise Jesus for the amazing new first home and thank you to VU for helping us get.
Veterans United has been the best experience I have had for home buying. It was your team that made our dream of being a homeowner possible. Your team was the most professional, customer oriented, and, most importantly, most caring and experienced that I have ever met. It started with the Lighthouse team and Ms Bobbie Hafford that worked with us for over a year to get our credit up to where it needed to be. She always reached out to us, kept us motivated, and kept us progressing to our goal of being a homebuyer. Once we were qualified my home loan specialist Seth reached out to us within an hour of being qualified and even though he had engagements with his family and it was late he always took the time to answer our calls, kept us informed, and kept our loan and pre approval moving. He motivated his team and even though it was late on a Friday Lucas stepped in and together we were able to be pre approved that same day. Seth Wilmes, Lucas Hassemer, and Morgan Luster always was prompt to return calls and texts and always was kind, informative and dedicated to our loan needs. Without these dedicated and caring professionals my family's dreams of owning our first home may have never came true. Thank you Seth, Bobbie, Lucas, and Morgan. And thank you to the Veterans United Team. My loan officer Seth Wilmes is one in a million. He is caring, professional, exceptionally proficient, ethical, and passionate about his job and exceptional customer service. Always available or quick to respond with my questions and I do believe he was always fully engaged and dedicated his time to me when i had the first time buyer many questions. He took the time to fully answer my spouse and I's questions fully and professionally. I will always refer Seth and his team as well as Veterans United to all of my friends, family, and associates that are starting the home buying or refinancing journey.
Every aspect of the process for buying my home was so important! I was guided by a team of professionals that walked me through every step. Communication was by phone, email, and the secure website. I could not have found a better group to work with!
Exercising patience is essential when navigating the loan process with Veterans United Home Loans, as it helps ensure a smooth and successful outcome. I have already recommended their services to three of my fellow service member

1st time home buyers, everyone was great and very accomidating, everyome was super nice, easy to work with and very helpful. Definitely would recommend.
Great!
Honestly, the loan officer was not truthful upfront. Even when first contacted the staff became aggressive, and later into the ordeal I surmised he was bamboozling me about interest rate, which I was adamant I didn't want to buy ! I verbalized I was just to buy the home outright with cash, which was met with more salesman tactics. It was round & round of garbage about V.A rates changing everyday & when I spoke with other loan officer I was told the rates were at the rate 5.25 without buying points! But all I got from your agent was locked it in , never mentioning $7000 charge was not in my interest , and I surmised after seeing my bank statement, I felt targeted as if to loan sharking. That loan officer never answered the last e-mail on all my concerns about unfair lending with VU and all my concerns when I saw estimate went from 23, 000 to $29,000 ...fraud.
The whole interaction w my loan officer & VU personnel stressed me out! I really don't have anything positive to say about my experiences with VU and will have my concerns addressed further.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Rosetta,
I’m really sorry to hear how upsetting and stressful this experience felt from start to finish. What you’ve described around communication, pressure, and uncertainty about your loan terms is not how the process should feel, and I can understand why this left you frustrated and concerned.
I’m especially troubled to hear your concerns about how the interest rate and points were presented, along with the increase in your closing costs. Those are important details that should always be clearly explained so you can make informed decisions with confidence. Feeling like you weren’t given straightforward information or that your questions went unanswered is something I take seriously.
I’d really like the opportunity to look more closely at your loan file, including the communication you received and the changes you mentioned, so we can better understand what happened and provide you with clear answers.
If you’re open to it, please reach out to me directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. The Client Advocate team is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday, and we’re happy to follow up the next business day if you contact us after hours.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Everyone was very helpful. We are first time home buyers and they helped us with every step along the way to closing.
Great teamwork on all fronts, very friendly and nice people to work with.
Hello,I would highly recommend Veterans United.
They have highly professional and friendly service. They made the process simple and straight forward. I had an awesome team who answered all my questions. Zack Kieffer was the individual who started the process of home purchase and he is awesome. God Bless you on your journey.
My whole loan team was awesome, and made the process super easy.
There was a bit of a miscommunication about trying to close early, but that might have been because I didn’t tell all parties involved (I thought they would communicate that amongst themselves).
I highly prefer talking to someone like knows about construction like Lance, super great and knowledge. Same with other staff but he stood out the most.
My VA lender & her team were great. They explained everything in detail steps along the way.
