I would not recommend Veterans United to anyone due to the questions asked by the underwriters. Plus it would be nice to know when you are closing ahead of of time. There is a lot of coordination that goes into moving and being told you can close the day before is unacceptable and unprofessional. How are you supposed to plan for that?

I'm so sorry for the challenges in underwriting and added stress around closing. I understand. We ask for a lot. Many items may seem tedious or redundant. The underwriting process can feel intrusive, but we assure you this in-depth analysis is a worthwhile step. The underwriting process serves to protect you, the consumer. Our job is to ensure your loan is done the right way. Sharing feedback with us helps promote accountability and improves the experience for other Veteran homebuyers. A lot of miscommunication between team members. A lot of
Miscommunication between lender representatives and us. Lengthy time to get back to us when voicemails at left for a urgent response. Last minute requests which delayed our closing several times! Would tell us one thing and another team member would tell us A another. I would get the required documents in and then it would change last minute and delay closing. Lenders delayed closing 3 times and cost me over $5,000 in Uhual and hotel fees. And ofcourse we could not back out of the deal because we would lose all money invested, so they had us by the balls. Caused a lot of emotional damage. Destroyed my mental health. Fyi this purchase involved a move from Chicago to Texas with a given approximate close date of June 29th. We didn’t close till July 18. It was a disaster dealing with this company. As soon as I can refinance I am out and never returning. I do not recommend. We are seeking attorney advise.
