JB Barton is an outstanding loan specialist. He did everything he could to ensure my family now has the home of our dreams. However the failure of the closing department caused significant issues. Failure to get the closing disclosure forced a delay that effected our shipment of household goods and then they chose to not complete the final closing packet Friday thus delaying our rescheduled closing on Monday. The closing departments lack of urgency in ensuring our closing went through as scheduled caused my family extra stress and financial hardship. They singlehandedly turned a great experience with Veterans United into an overall adequate one at best.

It's a great way to go veterans you won't go wrong with VU

There was a lack of communication between the lending team and underwriters. There was also a lack of communication between the lending team and clients. They had to have their own documents explained to them by our realtor. They added requirements and requested documents last minute. The communication was so poor that we would constantly have to remind them of documents that we already provided them. The lending team was almost always unreachable by phone.

Hope for the Best but most definitely always prepare for the worst ! My loan experience with Veterans United and the VA process fell within that range as all plans in life do ! The B.L.U.F. Is that my loan Closed ! Now, I’ve heard that a 95% success rate is an acceptable figure in the Mortgage Loan industry BUT as a former Mortgage Loan Officer, former Realtor and Combat Veteran it is the 5% that keeps me up at night ! The dream of my retirement purchase was seemingly headed to that 5% thanks in part to an apparent less-than-dedicated M.I.A. VA assigned Appraiser ( held the assignment for one month before allegedly citing family and weather issues then final refusal to complete the task) ! If it wasn’t for the dedicated, compassionate and truly professional efforts of my Realtor, Title Agent and the “Replacement” VA Appraiser I don’t believe the deal would have ended successfully ! Attention to Detail.
