I would recommend removing the individual you contract to do appraisals in the 54006 area, or at a minimum try to have someone else as a primary contact.
After receiving the appraisal I would have asked for a second opinion or someone else to appraise the home. However, I was in a difficult position, being homeless it is not easy to make a decision that will push out the closing date.
The individual appraised the home for $4,000 less than what it I agreed to pay. That’s a little bit over 1% of the home value. He also took 25 days to appraise the house. Even though that small amount of money was an annoying waste of time, I could live with that. What is causing me to spend time writing this review, is the individual would not use the homes my realtor or the sellers realtor sent him as comparisons. He used homes that were nothing like mine. The house I bought is a two level, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. If you review the comparisons he sent, you’ll notice he didn’t even have a two level home in his documents. Let alone comparable size or age of the house. This was extremely frustrating. Everything was ready to go, except the appraisal. We waited and waited, then to see that he didn’t even judge the home properly was a disappointment to say the least.
I understand no one is perfect and there could be other circumstances at play that I’m not aware of. However my realtor and the sellers realtor both informed me that this guy is a known issue in the area. I’m not sure how this company holds people accountable or sets their standards, but I hope this is at least looked so a paper trail can be started.

Ross, Nate, and the rest of my awesome Loan team worked with me for over a year until I finally found a house I liked. With my job as an FCC, I stay gone all the time so at times, getting all the information or paperwork for them was difficult. But, even in a time crunch, they did whatever they had to and got it done! They have VERY open lines of communications and made clear those lines of communication don't go away just because you sign the dotted line. Being a first time home buyer, it feels great knowing I have a team in my corner I can call if I have any concerns. Even if it's something they don't usually handle, they'll get that information best they can. Veterans know how trust feels, as for my team at VU, they put it there.

I definitely didn't expect to be getting any more gifts from Veterans United, but they sent me a beautiful personalized throw blanket. I also received a cool t-shirt and a pair of extremely soft socks to wear lol. I've definitely worn them.I also had a gentleman named Josh who was very helpful and consistent with helping me find the best companies and quotes to utilize in my area! He also asked how my dogs were every time - I loved that lol.

Tanner, Kimmy and rest of team were fantastic to work with and speak to during this process. The entire team kept me not only informed during this process, contacted me to not only ask for information or to give me information but to also see how I was doing during the process. From start to finish my loan team kept me informed, kept me on track, and made me feel they were working for me. The entire process from start to finish was smooth, informational and the website was "easy" to work with to upload documents to my account, get information on loan status, and has numerous informational videos and articles. Would recommend VU to all veterans, at least check into them to see if this process/company is right for you.
