When working with any lender be sure to come to the table as educated as possible on the many different aspects of home buying. The team at Veteran’s United was immensely helpful, and had I the opportunity to do this process over again I would have liked to have been better informed on the market I was buying in, the laws and “common sense” of the area. For example, when buying in CA, understand and fully read leases that may be attached to solar panels already on the home. Also don’t waste any time with clearing/investigating any liens that may be on the home. Clearing up these problems early-on can help your lending team get you ready for closing.
