Highly recommend using VU to any veteran looking to purchase a new home. The process from start to finish was stress free and Kyle Upshaw was superb in making me well-informed throughout our purchase.

Provide more training to underwriting to explain what state active duty is along with train the people who review documents what to look for to avoid adding unnecessary waste of time along with better time management to be able to complete tasks in the time the tell the client they will.

We had a somewhat tricky situation with my husband still being active duty but medically retiring next month. We originally tried to go with another lender, but they couldn't figure out how to make it work with our situation. Veterans United immediately assured us it could be done and worked really hard to make it happen for us. I couldn't be happier with my experience with VU.

Be sure to be specific on your information and cover everything. Mention your previously owned properties with addresses, your current living situation and any tax you owe or are exempt. If all these are laid out at the beginning of the process there should be no last minute loops to jump thru at the end.

Veterans United made the home buying process as painless as possible. They explained what was needed and ensured the process continued to make progress ultimately closing on time and for exactly the amount they said it would cost. Thank you!

If you are considering a VA loan and want a company that is 100% there for you and has your back, look no further. Veterans United is the best! I’ve worked with Ty Reece and his crew twice already and can’t praise him enough. They make the process seem easy. Rest assured you will have a friendly, caring, and knowledgeable staff taking care of every need, every step of the way.

In a hot market, VA loans come with many stipulations that sellers hate. If you can't seem to win offers, consider a local lender and a local real estate agent with a conventional loan if you can afford it.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Christopher, we absolutely recommend shopping for the product that best fits the needs of each individual situation. For the vast majority of military borrowers, VA loans are the most powerful and cost-effective mortgage program on the market. These government-backed loans come with significant financial benefits that help veterans purchase with no money down and no out-of-pocket spending up front, that being said, we HIGHLY recommend comparing VA loans to their counterparts as educating yourself on all loan products is important for prospective borrowers. For example a Conventional loan may be best for borrowers with sterling credit and enough cash on hand for a sizable down payment. A FHA loan may fit best for low- and middle-income borrowers who don’t qualify for no-down payment programs. Whereas a USDA loan would benefit those buyers who live in rural areas. Our hope is that your home serves you well and we invite you to connect with us for any needs in the future.
