As a whole, I think it was a good experience. I would recommend to another military family. A couple complications took place during but everything still happened in a timely manner.

We are first time home buyers. From beginning to end we had the most fantastic experience with Veteran's United due to my loan officer, Sara Streeter. She was outstanding. She answered our many questions and was very responsive. She made the process go smoothly for us and quelled a lot of our anxiety caused by external issues such as car problems and horrible hotel experiences during the home buying process. We decided to purchase a home out of state. It was a 10+ hour drive. We decided to use our car because it was reliable. Boy, were we in for a reality check. As we drove up the coast our car decided to take "Rest Stop" literally. We were at the beginning of our home buying experience and had to shell out $1000+ in car repairs. We went to three dealerships in two states over that period, all the while looking for a home. Sarah kept us upbeat and optimistic. She encouraged us to get it fixed, not to give up, and to definitely NOT BUY ANOTHER CAR! We were able to get to the state in which we purchased our home, find a house, get back to our state of origin and get through the due diligence period all while the car was having issues. From Pre-approval to Post-Closing, Sarah was always there to check-in. She was even instrumental in learning about and our receiving the PenFed grant so that our closing was taken care of. As a Veteran I find having an advocate, of sorts, to be the most important because a lot of us suffer from PTSD and need that one steady person who keeps a cool head when everything else around us seems to be going to the pooper. I THINK SHE NEEDS A RAISE!!!I would definitely recommend Veteran's United to any Vet I meet who is interested in either purchasing or refinancing a home. I would doubly recommend Sarah Streeter. She was that amazing.P.S. Our car is running well now, go figure!

The communication between the loan coordinator and the loan specialist needs improvement. Also the underwriting officer needs improvement with the title company in reference to documents that need to be signed. Overall what needs improvement in everyones part is communication and time management.

I never imagined buying a home would be such a simple task. But working with Jake, he made it happen. He sent the necessary paperwork I requested and after closely reviewing it, sent me a pre-approved letter. Jake and his team were great and now I am a homeowner. I highly recommend him.

Hit or miss on the quality of the loan officer. And I have emails and texts of why I had such a poor experience with Malika.

I wouldn’t change a thing. Everyone was great at what they do.
