First time buying a house and Veterans United were very helpful and compared to other mortgage companies, they offered me the best deal.

Be prepared to be scrambling last minute to see if you’re going to close.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Joseph, we appreciate your feedback. While, changes to your employment and income will not automatically stall your mortgage plans, lenders may need to take a closer look. When your loan team "kicks off" your file, they order all necessary items right away, unfortunately, it can take time (and clarity, via back and forth communication, with HR departments or letters of explanation) to confirm any and all changes. We know that closing early is the goal of any new homeowner and when things derail that expectation, it can certainly cause frustration. I am thrilled the we were able to get your loan from processing to funded in 30 days and we hope that the next chapter of your home owning journey is a positive one. A member of our Client Advocate team has attempted to reach you directly via call and email. It is our goal to provide expert and reliable communication through a dedicated Loan Specialist. We invite you to connect with our team and become a part of our effort to continuously improve the client experience at Veterans United.
The home buying process isn’t Easy but when you have a Team VU on your side you will get through it.

The whole process was outstanding, thank you

Having this option as a veteran was incredible. Veterans United was outstanding from beginning to end. I will never buy a home without Veterans United in my corner.

VU is a caring responsible company. Every claim they make about their avtions and follow-through is true.

It was a experience

The entire team, from top to bottom provided guidance, assistance and each member was the consummate professional during the entire process. I would highly recommend them to all my friends and relatives.

Best home buying experience I've ever had and the easiest. 10 out of 10 stars!!!!

Do an all around better job in the future. I will be sure to tell every veteran I know to use a different lending company if possible.

I can’t say enough about what a great experience I had with everyone involved in my transactions. It made the whole journey enjoyable from start to finish. I highly recommend VU for any veteran trying to buy a home. VU will go to bat and make it happen for you with the lease amount of stress as possible. Thank you VU!

I was a bit disappointed with the underwriting process delaying the closing of my home. From what I can gather, there was unnecessary review of my business finances the day before I was scheduled to close and it was very inconvenient. This is significant b/c my business income is in no way tied to the financial qualification of my home loan. I had scheduled to take over utilities and had important mail/packages delivered my new address, and was forced to reschedule appointments that had also been made for the weekend that was lost as a result. I was under the impression that my financial readiness was determined at the beginning of the process, and it seemed to me the underwriter (specifically) was seeking to create problems where none clearly existed. Other than that detail, the process of purchasing my home with Veterans United was excellent and I will be recommending VU to other veterans I know.

My experience with Veteran United was good.

Amanda Leger acted in a manner in which other transaction coordinators should strive to emulate. It didn’t matter the time of day or task at hand, she could always be counted on to answer a call, respond to an email, or reach out to outside entities in order to allow us a smooth buying experience.

If you're a veteran, you owe it to yourself to get in touch with the wonderful people at Veterans United. Their focus is truly on serving those who served.
