I purchased a new home while I was out of state and Kendall Haun the loan officer and Christal Browning the real estate agent did absolutely everything. I could not have asked for an easier more transparent process. When we got into town, we just signed the paperwork and was handed the keys. Thank you for an amazing program!!

So to start from the beginning it was a walk in the park I called they picked up and they were always nice and they would answer my 50 million questions I had and never once did they act like it was a stupid question like some people have in the past. Then we started looking for houses and we found a house, we called and we told him we found one for xxx,xxx amount. We printed off the preapproval amount for that amount turned it in then went back-and-forth with the seller agreed on an amount, the loan process has started and from then on out is where it started going downhill.
Right after the loan process started we had a to do list and I got them done normally same day that they put them on there and even within the same hour usually. We even went to family members houses to print off stuff we need at the time and took pictures of anything else we could upload online, sent that to them and emailed them telling him I sent it all and they got back with me pretty quickly and told me that I was on the ball and doing great and If we kept this up we would be closing on time. Well little did I know at the time that they would get me to the point where it was no turning back or you’re basically starting all over and losing your earnest money and all the other stuff you had to put down for the seller to take the house off the market that’s when everything really changed!
So at the beginning they asked if we wanted certain things, inspections ,what not done that we didn’t have to do because it was a new construction and we did some of them we didn’t do some and so it came time for the appraisal for the home and at the time I was busy when he called so he told me he went head and paid for it I guess maybe the company actually kind of paid for it and they said that it would just add it to our closing cost and so I told him that was fine and that I appreciated him going ahead and ordering it so we can get started and then we heard back a couple days later saying that the builder of the house needed to do some kind of thing for the VA before we can move ahead with the appraisal so the appraisal was ordered but it couldnt actually be done until the seller filled out his paperwork, once the builder/seller got the paperwork done he said the paperwork would take 2 to 3 days to go in the system and then they could go ahead and get the appraisal finished and the appraisal could take up to 14 days I believe they said or It can take as little as a week I think, anyhow the appraisal was done and actually was on the exact amount for what we were paying for the home, it matched the houses in the area and however it works.... it went great so we thought! Finally we heard back a little while later stating our appraisal is good blah blah blah.
So then we were considered in the underwriting and we were told by whoever that we don’t need to make any big purchases or big withdrawals which we didn’t and we got our Tax money automatically deposited into our account before we even started the house Process and once it was deposited into your account we put it back in savings for closing costs which they said was fine and it is fine but the big deal wasn’t the tax deposit at the time, it was taking us forever to get a clear to close. They couldn’t get a hold of the right people to get a statement proving my husband works where he works because of the type of job he has so we went back-and-forth with the lady and even the guy ... he said to my husband that he would email the supervisor and get the papers signed that he needed from him a week or so later we hadn’t been updated so we call to check about it they guy didn’t answer like always so we called the lady over our loan and she said she never heard from anyone about it!
So my husband texted the supervisor right then while on the phone and said this is his name email and phone # and she contacted him and he responded and then she said I didn’t get anything from him .... my husband said I have him on my phone right now he sent it .... she said “ oops got it mixed up with another loan account my bad” I have had it this whole time for you guys.
Then that is finally cleared up and we’re told y’all are pushing it to sign on your set closing date but if we keep pushing and keep on track y’all should still make it.So we do all that they ask the same day if not within the same hour they posted it .... then the week of closing(we still were told the same about closing, never once were we told you aren’t closing this Thursday !)
So we call the bank to wire money to the attorneys office for closing costs and then we get a call saying your account doesn’t have enough in it for closing costs so you have another account we can look at .... I said we are closing in 2 days!!! The bank said a wire can take up to 2 days and y’all said the money needed to be there the money we go in!!
He said oh well y’all WILL BE PUSHING IT TO CLOSE IN TIME again not that we would not be ! To our realtor he told her “ WELL WERE PUSHING IT TO GET DONE IN TIME. Her- Well if we don’t close on the scheduled closing date then it’s gonna be middle of next week, because the attorneys office doesn’t have anything open until then.
Him “WELL NEXT WEEK IS OKAY... ISNT IT.
Her- they have already gave y’all more time than a typically VA loan takes and your telling me you still won’t be ready in time. I’m very disappointed in y’all for this.
Him- WELL IF WE JUMP INTO THIS FILE WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A CLEAR TO CLOSE BY THIS EVEING”So we (my husband and I) called an hour or 2 later to ask him if we needed to doing anything to help along the process to close on time because we have things setup for delivery already for that following Friday and Saturday!HIS FREAKING PHONE WENT TO VOICEMAIL SAYING SORRY BUT I WILL BE OUT OF THE OFFICE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY!!!!!TALK ABOUT BEING PISSED OFF....NOW WE KNEW WE WERE GONNA BE WAITING 7 weeks to move into our new home when most we have talked to is 5 1/2 weeks at most !Now we are about 5 days out from our new closing date the following week and we get a call from him and then a call from her wanting us to explain why our account was low on $ after we have already explained ... so he says no worries we will just go back to before y’all took it out and I’m use that statement and back.... we are like finally something went right in this process.. wel little did we know that this was the start of a whole other process!!Took us 2 days of back and fourth with her and him sending screenshots of bank statements and getting ahold of the bank to explain why our tax deposit didn’t show up as that( because our bank is not anywhere close by to us we could go in and request this info so took a lot longer to ahold of what we needed .After the tiring back and fourth we finally got a clear to close along with a phone call.
It was the guy and he said “ well thanks for hanging in there things just didn’t get done by some that should have and also y’all didn’t really know exactly what you we’re doing so it took y’all a lot longer than it would have me because I know exactly what I’m doing and what to send in . ( I honestly don’t think he was being mean by it but it’s just this whole process ) ... that just kinda aggravated me!So recap on we got our clear to close Thursday night !

After a rocky start to securing financing for our new home, Michelle Dapkus swooped in and saved the day. I could not be more appreciate of her efforts and knowledge of the business. I would also like to mention her assistant Diana Thole. She went above and beyond to make sure the closing happened on time with no surprises. Those who have purchased a house previously can appreciate how tough a task this can be. I would highly recommend anyone who needs a true professional in the mortgage arena to reach out to Michelle and her team. She has a customer for life with the Cooper’s
