The loan process was relatively painless. It was so much easier being able to e-sign documents.
My loan specialist, Felecia Solomon, was absolutely wonderful to deal with! She communicated every step of the way, and never failed to respond to calls, texts or emails. If I called and she was busy, she said she would call back in a few minutes, and she always did. She is extremely knowledgeable and very customer service oriented! I would HIGHLY recommend her, and Veterans United, to anyone that needs a home loan! We closed our loan in less than a month from start to finish (between Thanksgiving and Christmas) and would have closed a week sooner, but the closing attorney had a full schedule.
Overall, our best experience with Veterans United was with our loan specialist. Jason was amazing. But there were just several things that were miscommicmated among departments and I feel like Jason was probably putting fires out and helping us as much as he can.
Overall a great customer experience. Nicole and Kat were always very responsive on the rear occasion they didn't know an answer for one of my questions they always got back to me with an answer. As a first-time homebuyer that was not using a realtor I was asking Kat and Nicole many questions that would probably would have asked my realtor so kudos to them for going the extra mile! The only bad experience was some miscommunication regarding the house having a well. This lead to a significant delay and my rate exiting. Ultimately all was made right with a lender's credit and this was a much better experience than the other company I was working with Penfed. I would do business again with this company

We purchased our first home 50+ years ago. We purchased a vacation home in 2004 out of the country. Neither purchase took longer than a month. We paid cash for the Canadian home.
We attempted to buy the Canadian house with a loan so as to have a credit rating in Canada. How ever Canada evidently does not allow non-residents to do this or have credit cards issued there. If the house was destroyed it would not have had any financial consequence, so I did not declare it. This was an error on my part.It is my opinion that a list of paper requirements to facilitate loan applications would help loan applicants.1. DD214
2 Mortgage Payments
3. insurance bills
4.Tax Statements
5. Social Security
6. All retirement accounts
Are other methods available if some things not handy? The process is cumbersome.
Veterans United is knowledgeable about current and changing laws were VA loans are concerned which is an extra bonus when using your VA benefits to purchase a home. You can't go wrong by using their services for your next home buying experience!
