We had no idea that we could get this done on January 10, 2020 when we reached out to Josh and his team. Less than 80 days later, we closed on our beautiful home. The entire team was fantastic and were able to move our closing up a couple of weeks on short notice.

It seemed like everything was going well until the day before closing, when we found out that VU hadn't prepared the closing documents correctly. They didn't have correct taxes for Alaska, and they showed that I would get back a lot of money. That money didn't come back to me. They took numbers from the initial offer that was not accepted. They hadn't even read the counter offer. On top of it all, they charged a full 1% origination which almost no one does anymore. They were hard to contact and I almost had to push back my closing day. They caused me a lot of undue stress leading up to a day that should have been exciting for me, as a first time homebuyer.

Everything was excellent customer service wise. However, the appraisal process still takes far too long. Veterans could still be losing out on quality properties because it takes 10 days for an appraisal to occur and everything depends on the appraisal coming back at or above purchase price. This timeframes needs to be cut down to 5 business days or preferably less.
