Needed a lot of paperwork compared to other lenders. Tried blaming me for their screw up right before closing and didn’t communicate well. Found out lender was trying to delay closing only after calling my realtor asking about closing day details. Loan officer was out of the loop on missing items the account manager said he was missing. Going to give VU the benefit of doubt in that it was over the holidays but communication was terrible.

Very professional throughout the entire process. This was my first home and they were very good at explaining the process and making sure I understood everything that was going on. There wasn’t a moment I didn’t know what was going on and if I had questions I would pick up the phone and they were readily available nearly all the time. The underwriter process is not as clear as it should be. During that part of the process, they were not clear on what exactly they needed or what was needed to complete the loan process.
