Everyone from the loan team to our agent was amazing. Incredible patient and understanding, the communication they had was clean and daily. Without them I wouldn’t have our house we call home. Truly lucky and blessed to have worked with this team.

My wife and I would like to convey (we learned that word from our real estate dealings, lol) our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of the Veteran's United Team!!!Our journey began with Smith Gaddy on May 23rd. This being our first home ever (yes, at our age...), we did not know what to do or expect. We were guided by you all every step of the way. Our concierge (Casie) got us connected and on track for this process. She also hooked us up with our realtor. Tyler (our loan officer) got involved immediately and worked on our preapproval. Every step was detailed and explained in ways we could understand. The patience, understanding, and commitment was/is so amazing. Cara kept us on track for the underwriter and Jimmy kept the ball rolling in the same efficient manner when Cara was not available. Alicia got our Homeowners insurance in line and patiently kept making necessary changes as we needed them. We successfully closed on July 25th, 2022!Tyler (our loan officer) has gone out of his way to make our dream come true. He helped us overcome obstacles which could have destroyed our dream from becoming a reality. We will never forget him or his team!We tell you all this so you can get an idea from the buyers/our perspective. You all never lost sight of why you are doing this.I am a Vietnam Veteran who has had a difficult trip through life. I never would have dreamed this possible. More importantly, my wife gets the one thing in this life that she has always dreamed of. Thank you for what you have done for us! Remember that you all hold the ability to fulfill a void in a veteran and his family's life. It makes a HUGE difference and again we will be forever grateful to you all. Thank you!!!

Jessica is the REAL MVP. Our reality of owning our dream home was made possible by her outstanding competence and dedication to us as a military family. Working across time zones and being responsive despite our international travel and hectic work schedules, she advocated for us, answered all our questions, worked closely with our realtor, addressed our concerns and ultimately made it all happen. She is, in a word, a blessing. And she’s got a great sense of humor, to boot! We couldn’t have asked for a better loan officer.

Our loan took FAR too long to complete, two months to the day. This is our third VA loan and never have I experienced the low level of organization, or ability to read pain English when things were explained to them. Was told by Travis the appraisal fee had been waived and then he denied saying that. Was also told by Travis that the requirement to have our current house rented before we closed, he made a special call to tell me that, then denied it. He was that due to their lack of organization our closing date was changed so many times,v it was hard to have it rented by closing. Our original closing date was Januaary 9 and we didn't close until February 20! They acted like i was not being truthful. There was a mistake by the listing agent bin regard to the year the manufactured home was built, which resulted in a very pointed comment by Dawn alluding that I intentionally provided the wrong year, and it also resulted in having to scramble for insurance at the last minute. Totally avoidable. There are far too many examples to list here if the nonsense we went through. The entire process was beyond stressful. Whatever Lee Satler went, he needs to come back. I never have been spoken to or writren to in the manner I was between Dawn and Travis.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Andrew,

I’m really sorry your loan process took so long and was filled with so much frustration. Two months is a long time to be dealing with delays and miscommunication, and I can only imagine how exhausting that must have been—especially since this isn’t your first VA loan. It’s disappointing to hear that you felt unheard and that there were conflicting messages along the way. That’s not the kind of experience we want for our borrowers, and I completely understand why this left you feeling frustrated.

I’d really like for my team to look into what happened here and see if there’s anything we can do to make this right. If you’re open to it, please reach out at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We truly appreciate your feedback and would love the opportunity to learn from your experience.

I have had several homes in the past and each one was a huge hassle to get to closing. I have lived in a motor home for the past several years primarily because I didn’t want to spend the money houses cost. But also because I didn’t want to endure the buying process. It has always been difficult in the past. Then I found Veterans United. More like they were highly recommended to me. So after my niece and her family convinced me to look for a house, I signed on with Veterans United. Almost immediately Brittany contacted me. Admittedly it took a while to get to closing but that is mostly on me. It took me a bit to find a house I liked. After that it was almost like I was a spectator. Brittany and the entire team took me in and things started happening much faster than I anticipated. They worked with my realtor too. Even the closing was pretty straightforward. Then Veterans United sent me a gift package. How very thoughtful! Brittany followed up the day after closing and congratulated me for my new home. I couldn’t have been luckier with the team that worked with me! I would and will recommend Veterans United to anyone of my veteran brothers and sisters who are looking to get a home using their VA entitlement. Thanks again team!
