A great company
You think you're receiving a great service, but, they still charge points and you must pay a year of insurance up front plus property taxes for four months plus abstract insurance even though you pay to have the abstract brought up to and they outsource your loan. Totally and completely unacceptable. As well, they were told numerous time we were property tax exemption, but still figured it in and then would not remove it once proven because they were outsourcing the loan and the new loan service would take care of it. They are impossible to get hold of.
Response from Veterans United
Mark, we understand how frustrating it can be when important details seem unexpected and we value your honest feedback. You have touched on a few topics regarding closing costs that are common. We apologize if these were not discussed in greater detail during the loan process. Our Client Advocate team will treat this as a potential training opportunity with a goal to provide improved service to future customers. You may reach out to our team of dedicated specialists for any of your customer service needs. We are eager and available to provide ongoing support as you transition into your new home.
Instead of buying a house. We had one built. They communicated with the builders the whole way. Worked our down payment into closing cost. Which we ended up getting money back from. That was convenient since it was a new house and some additional items were needed.
I had an awesome first home-buying experience with Veterans United. They were able to answer every question I had along the way. I would recommend them to new and experienced home buyers alike.

Buying a home can be very stressful, and triumphant at times. Veterans United takes the guess work out of the equation. They inform you every step of the way and answer any questions with a quick response time. VU, you have one helluva team!
Do it. You won't regret it.
I'm really glad my husband decided to make the drive to Tampa to speak to someone instead of over the phone. He met Cindy Tolster & began our journey to owning a home in Florida. Throughout the whole process, she was our beacon of light. When we would get fustrated, all it took was a quick phone call or text, let her know what was going on.(real or imagined!), and she would explain what needed to be done, or tell us it was all ok.She was just as excited as us the day we closed. From John & Michele Costanzo, Thank You Cindy!

Good mortgage company I recommend to all vets jeffery scheet
Veterans United approved me even when other companies would not because of trivial issues. This company, unlike others, understands how service members disability entitlement works and how it IS counted as income. Some employees are veterans so they really understand how it can be difficult to deal with explaining this to lenders who do not understand the "lingo." The personal touch was remarkable. I applied and had an approval to move forward within a week. Also their website is incredibly easy to work with when documents are needed. Thanks Veterans United for making me a homeowner!LaTonya S.
