Veterans United goes well above the call of duty in taking care of Vets in the Home buying market. I loved the Marine Corps socks they sent me. That gesture alone made my decision to stay with Veterans United through the buying process.

As much as we wanted to have an excellent first buying experience and as much as personally liked the lending team, we do not feel that we were part of the 97% of satisfied customers. To avoid conflict, we didn’t argue much, but for people with as good of credit as we had and who submitted all requested documents and payments within hours, we feel that this should have been a far less painful process. We were misled a few times about interest rates and move in dates only to be told later that we were the ones to misunderstand. I would’ve liked to see more effort to make it right with the closing costs and interest rates. Being told a week before our estimated move in date that it would be another 2-3 weeks was not pleasant. However, the ultimate insult was to get a “congratulations” phone call that involved far more requests to give the lending team scores of 10 and written compliments than actual congrats to us. Overall, we had a good experience, but it was far from great and I would give my girlfriend and myself most of the credit for remaining positive throughout it. I have been honest throughout this process and I brought up these issues several times, but there was no resolution, so I would feel uncomfortable to not bring it up now.

I realize my experience doesn’t represent the company as a whole, but overall I had a good experience. I got in all the needed documents the same day they were requested of me. Things just didn’t work out in some areas. I weathered the storm as did everyone else. The home purchase was completed and I’m happy!! I do thank Moya and Emilee for their help.

For as lengthy and overwhelming of a process as refinancing or buying a home can be, Veterans United Home Loans truly made the process a wonderful experience.They guided us every step of the way and were able to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
The only thing I have any complain about is the fact that on the original closing day the property title wasn't in the owner's name causing a delay in closing.

Some communication that was passed should not have been passed due to not correct or sent before a major part of the closing was complete.
