Taylor clark started out great but eventually got to where he wouldn't return calls or emails to both myself and my agent. He would tell me I was good with paperwork I turned in and then called less than 24 hours later saying I needed to send something I had just asked him if he needed.
Over all was a good experience. There were some things that seemed kind of pointless. Multiple copies of the same paperwork being sent. What is the point in a pre-approval, if we are going to have to continue to send in stuff afterwards. If you need that much more to see if we qualify, then why give the pre-approval. Doesn't make sense.
I had a good experience overall and if I end up selling and buying again (likely) I will probably go through VU.

We did not appreciate the way we were treated by the title company.
Everything went smooth, thanks for all the assistance from Sam and his team.
The entire veterans united team was great, especially shanon and jason. They were quick, flexible, friendly, and very helpful. They knew what they were doing and how to get it done quickly. I will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to others.
I dealt with Dave, Sarah, and Hunter. From the beginning to the end of the whole process they were outstanding.
No matter what return calls.
From an email I sent to Maureen and Kendra,
Good Morning Ladies,
We got all moved in this weekend and started on the list of things to do that will make our house become our home. All weekend I've been thinking about you two and how great you made this entire process; I genuinely don't know how I would have gotten through the experience without you two doing so much to help reassure me and guide me along the way.
As you've likely noticed in the past couple of months, I can be a little bit...well, I don't know what the word would be but I'm the type of person that likes to get things done and cant stand wasting time "waiting". I'm typically the driver to get things done and nothing annoys me more than an aloof attitude and complete lack of urgency or importance. You both did an amazing job of anticipating obstacles and next steps in a way that I never got that anxious feeling that something wasn't being taken care of or that I needed to step in for any reason at all.
I'm positive that you have more going on at any time than just me and my issues but throughout the entire process you were able to make me feel as though I was your top priority and getting my house seemed as important to you as it was to me. I'm genuinely amazed at your absolute professionalism and knowledge of your industry but more than anything I am so grateful for your ability to "know" when I was going to be asking a question or looking for an update. You made this process as painless as possible and I cant imagine having to go through it without someone like you.
I don't know if its the company culture or if you are just exceedingly good at what you do but I get a feeling that its a combination of both. I feel like I've got a friend in the mortgage industry now and hope you don't mind if I say hello every now and then.
Thank you so much for everything you did to make this experience as smooth as possible. You should be very proud of how you present yourself and your organization as knowledgeable, courteous, caring, and empathetic.
Please make sure that this note makes its way to a member/s of your leadership team. If I knew who to send it to I would but its important for me to know that your leadership team is aware of the organization's best two employees and how well you represent Veterans United.
Thanks again and have an amazing summer!
Talk to you later,
Kody was the most professional agent I've ever dealt with. His attitude, and ability to articulate and explain are impeccable. I want to thank the management team for assigning him to me.
The only improvement that I could suggest, would be to work out a system by which your company could provide the customer with a more accurate estimate of closing costs. I understand that certain figures are unknown until a few days before closing. However, I believe that the average closing costs for a particular size loan could be estimated within a closer margin of error than is currently provided. For example, the original GFE that I received estimated closing costs from the buyer to be in the neighborhood of $12,000. Upon receipt of the GFE, I contacted VU and spoke with my loan specialist who assured me that the actual cost would be much lower. A few weeks later, once we were getting relatively close to the closing date, I called my loan specialist again to get a revised estimate. At that time the only figure we were waiting for was the premium for flood insurance. All other figures had been established. At that time, I was advised that my closing cost were looking to be somewhere near the $300.00 mark. (which is a large difference from the $12,000 original estimate) Once closing was finalized, my out-of-pocket closing (not including earnest money) was approximately $1,800.00. Now please do not think that I am in any way upset about any aspect of the business I have done with Veterans United. I am very pleased with my home purchase. But as we should all strive to constantly improve ourselves, this was the only suggestion I could think of where VU could make some improvement. Thank you all for the services have you provided to myself and my fellow veterans. I hope you take this suggestion constructively and not as a derogatory or negative criticism. I would highly recommend VU to fellow veterans.
I did not have a real estate agent.
I sure hope Steven gets some formal recognition or bonus for his work. He's outstanding as is the team that made this happen for us. Thank you.
