Me and my wife had a great lending team of Kevin Clarke, Tasha Prater and Shawn Swenson. From my perspective I felt my loan team did everything excellently!
The process took almost 5 months - with repeated requests for documents we provided. This had us worried our personal, sensitive information was not safeguarded as the loan team could not locate documents we had already submitted. We were frustrated with the lack of communication. Email requests were multiple for one or two items, but several a day, for different items, instead of a concised list of what documents were required or requests made. It made tracking the requests of the loan team difficult. Phone calls to our representatives left us feeling rushed off the phone with questions still.
Felt well informed throughout the whole process.
We've used VU several times now and have always been impressed. This time took a lot longer than expected however and as a result, interest rates climbed high enough that it almost wasn't feasible to complete the process. This was disappointing since we weren't given a clear reason (other than people were on holiday) as to why the process wasn't as streamlined as usual. As a result, we lost out on much better rate.
A very professional and pleasant experience. Was kept abreast during the whole process from pre-approval to closing.
