Overall I am happy with my refinance. There were several hiccups at the end. The first was the fault of Sunrun. Not really sure with the signing. We had to do a split sign because I was away at training. The first attempt to sign my location was messed up and no one showed to do my signing. I had to sign two days later. When it was time for my wife to sign, we got a call and we’re told that she couldn’t sign BWC we had to reschedule signing for another date. This pushed our signing back a week. When we finally got same day signing scheduled (still split signings), I called on the date the money was supposed to be deposited into our bank account. The money had not been deposited and no one bothered to call and notify us that another form needed to be signed. I was emailed the form and had to drive home an hour and a half (leaving training) so that my wife could sign the same form and then email a copy of it before the money was to be released. The money was not released that day and was told that it would be there in the morning. The next morning the money had not yet been deposited into our account. I informed VU and the title company. Around 10:00 am the title company called and asked for a verbal authorization to release the money into our account. Approximately 3 hours later (2 days later than when we were told the money would be available) the money was in our account.

Again, I want to say that Samantha and the rest of the team gave me the best experience I've ever had and I wish everyone could use Veterans United. I felt like they were right there next to me the whole way and that's very hard to do via emails, text messages and phone calls. They made buying a home so simple and pleasurable and they made me feel important 110% and they really cared about me. They answered every question and walked me through every step. Not one thing or instance was negative. When I felt like there was going to be a problem or something I didn't understand or comprehend, they walked me through every process and handled every situation that I needed help with or didn't understand with ease and comfort. I could just call Samantha or anyone on the team and my calls were answered promptly and professionally. The whole team and experience was like having that family doctor and his staff for 20+years. We had not purchased an existing home in 25 years; our last home was built and there is a big difference. Also, times and rules have changed and I cannot say enough about how the combination of technology and people made us feel as if VU was with use every step of the day. There was give and take across the board and we are so very happy with our new home, which was purchased as our retirement home, we are grateful and thankful. Will recommend you to anyone who asks. The team I worked with was very good but has a major weakness (Emily Reynolds) her last minute request for paperwork was poorly executed and her failure to even check her voice mail was an embarrassment for the team and company.
When you have an organization like Veterans United out there working FOR veterans, you can be assured that they will go the distance to make homebuying a pleasant and almost stress free experience.
