Communication and organization could have been better. It was difficult contacting veterans united and deciphering what documents were needed and how they needed to be sent as far as digital signatures vs wet signatures. Our closing experience could have gone a lot smoother with more preparation and communication on veteran united's part.
I did not employ a real estate agent. My experience was that the staff at VU was not prepared to work with someone other than a real estate agent because there was a terrible communication gap between me and VU. At times, I felt patronized, ignored or simple "dealt with." My perception was that if I'd had a real estate agent to protect my interests, I would have received better customer service, professionalism, and courtesy from VU. My opinion is that I did not get the appropriate communication that I deserved. I was left very confused, stressed, and felt completely "out of the loop" during almost the entire process and was even told once to not contact them, they'd call me.
Although the overall process, when looked at as a whole, was a fairly quick process lasting approximately 2-3 months and actually saved me closing costs in the end ... I believe it could have been handled a lot more professionally and cost me much less stress had better communication taken place. I did not appreciate being "left in the dark" until closing, unless I badgered the agents for information. I did not like feeling like I was clueless and did not feel like an appreciated customer. I liked Jeffrey but we did struggle throughout this process. To give him credit, I did have an unusual case so I am sure that caused him much undue stress as well.
I'm thrilled with my new home and am happy the process is complete. Thanks to all who worked on my case (I'm sure they are thrilled it's over as well!) ;)
I did not have any problems. Personally for me I would say my phone is a better contact than email. Not good or bad just something I would prefer. Thanks
