All I have ever really heard is horror stories about the home buying process and dealing with a VA home loan. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CASE. I had an unbelievable amount of stress and things to deal with while moving duty stations and, because of veterans united, the home buying process was not part of that. I wasn't prepared to wait as long as I did to be approved to close. It made it hard to properly plan. For example, I needed to ship my car from Alabama to the new home but didn't want to do it until I knew we were getting financed. Last minute shipping costs a bundle more. I ended up buying a plane ticket and will need to fly back to Alabama to personally retrieve my car. I don't know if this was the fault for Veterans United or the Closing company. That was the only hitch I had with the process.
My process was smooth overall. Whenever I had questions, they were always answered. The app kept me on track with what needed to be done.
Veterans United has been so wonderful with us. Everything from the purchase of our "first ever" home down to the refinancing of the same home, someone was always available to quell our fears and answer a 1,001 questions with patience of saint.
I would recommend to any veteran looking for a house. Took a lot of the stress off me and when you are buying a home you are going to need a resource just as great as Veterans United!
