Gerrit and Whitney were so incredibly fantastic to work with. We feel very fortunate to have worked with them both. We always felt like their priority and they were always there for us to answer any question (big or small). I would recommend VU, and Gerrit specifically to anyone I know. This entire experience was a positive one. I don't think it would have gone as well if we were working with anyone else. The level of customer service and focus shown to us was beyond exceptional. Thank you to everyone at VU!!

Marie's team, I felt, weren't communicating with each other. It was like the left hand didn't know what the right was doing, very frustrating.
During the process of getting paperwork together I felt like I was getting nickled and dimed with requests. Some of the time I received multiple requests for the same form (address zip code correction)

I had initially planned to organize a VA loan through USAA however, I am very happy that I turned to Veterans United instead and will gladly recommend you, and Brian in particular, to anyone I know that is shopping for a VA loan.

I have purchased homes in the past and I must say this was one time in which I fully understood at all time, where we were at in the process. The VA Team, (Steve and Liz) took great strides to ensure that my wife and I were always informed. They drew me what I saw as a road map through the process. Liz pushed me documents that were required then would call me to explain the how to, why and what on each and every document required. At no time was I wondering how the process was going. Steve was always looking out for my interests. I really appreciate the efforts of Steve Stasczuk in providing clear and concise direction and to Liz Reed for hand walking me through the process. If Kimberly (loan processor) was acting in a manner in which is required by VU please notify me so I know exactly who it is at fault. Of all my friends and family who own homes, none ever experienced such rude, intrusive harassment. My employer told me each time she called him and the questions she asked. She called at least once a day the whole week before closing. She asked questions completely unrelated to the loan including what kind of car I drove and how far away my boss's house was from mine. She called my wife's employer several times to verify her employment. Is once not enough? It also seemed every few days AFTER my loan was approved she continued to ask for more information from me. I feel this was all based on the stereotype that a young couple, such as my wife and myself, cannot financially handle this burden responsibly. I feel that is extremely insulting because not only am I a veteran but presented VU with a portfolio of my financial past, all current bank account and investment statements and proof of employment that far surpasses the cost of this monthly payment. The loan process was more of an investigation of my life. As I said, no other person I know went through such treatment and I highly discourage any vet from using VU because of all people, veterans do not deserve such treatment! VU has Tami McGuire to thank for this deal going through. If Tami had not been there for us and such a helpful individual I would have found another lender. Interest rates are not what kept me with VU and there are several other places in my town that can serve VA loans.

Caleb Bales really worked hard during our loan process. Our loan was a bit more complex than some and certainly had more steps than the average home loan experience. He was ALWAYS available to answer questions, talk about concerns, and provide feedback. When a problem arose, he would quickly and efficiently outline our options and walk us through each step. We are very grateful for this experience and for the opportunity to own our first home. Thanks again!
