Donna Roof was EXTREMELY helpful through the whole process and trust me it was a process. Her knowledge of Government backed VA Home Loans was AWESOME. We had a storied credit history due to circumstances out of our control and she was able to help us secure the right type of mortgage to get us the house we wanted. Thank you Donna and Veterans United Home Loans!

Having just gone through a refinance with another institution. I would say without a doubt, that Veterans United was a much less stressful experience. Casey Martin worked with me every step and ensured we met or beat every deadline presented us by the other lenders and Realtors. He received very high praise from my realtor who has been in the business 20+ years!

I had no idea the pain I was in store for when I decided to refinance my home. I killed about ten trees worth of paper printing out all the statements and required documents. It seemed to be a never-ending process that was ridiculously over-complex. I must have called and e-mailed Winsor a thousand times during it all. I can't say enough how appreciative I am for his patience and help given through the entire process. He made it happen. I can breath easier knowing I am in a fixed rate instead of a variable. I will save thousands over the course of this loan. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

One other comment off topic... it seems rather silly to me to approve me for a zero-down loan for a new home, yet deny me a refinance on an existing home unless I pony up additional funds (ended up being close to $30,000. Thankfully we had the money in savings, but I'm sure disqualifies a lot of vets who don't. Why give them a VA loan but deny them an opportunity to refi an existing one? This probably won't make an ounce of difference, but my vote is in to allow vets to refinance through the VA with the same costs associated with buying a new home. Thanks for reading.

My Loan officer was Winsor Cooper. He was simply amazing with his attention to detail and responsiveness. Let's face it, the loan process is not always a comfortable activity; Winsor's professionalism kept the process moving and tolerable. I have recommended Winsor by name and Veterans United home loans through association to him to several of my friends who are looking to purchase in the next few months. Employee like Winsor are a rare commodity; they take a good organization to the next level. He is a true credit to your organization.

Being a retired banker I was certain my loan would have been a "slam dunk" considering credit scores, lack of debt, income, and downpayment. It appears some of the delay was due to the appraiser not doing what was required by VA guidelines and as a result, closing was delayed a minimum of 4 days. What should have been a closing by March 11, was extended to March 21. However, the 33 days was within industry averages. Paying the full amount of the appraisal when it was not done right the first time and delays a closing is irritating. Overall, Mitch and Elizabeth kept me informed and were very professional. I appreciate their efforts in getting my loan processed.

Chrissy Smith is truly an outstanding professional in your company. It was really a job for me to get this loan but she was there 150% all the way and helped me through some tough times. She is definitely a positive asset to your company and as a member of Doug's team. All people in the home loan field should use her as an example on how to get things done and done correctly
