My experience was very frustrating and I wanted to just give up in the process. I felt very scrutinized and violated. It’s one thing to check and verify, but that process was ridiculous. I’ve heard better stories from people who previously went through Veterans United and it only took maybe two weeks and they were approved, and their credit was 10 times worse than mine. I just didn’t have a great experience all the way around. Ben Williams was great, he kept me informed about everything, but the underwriters were going back and forth and I just think they could have done a better job at getting things up front and stop with the back and forth. I get the process, but it doesn’t have to be this difficult. It just wasn’t the best experience and I don’t know if all that was necessary. Anyway, I will get off my soap box. As veterans, we always try to help our families and friends, and recommend great services and products, but the way this process is, it makes you wonder if it’s really worth it.
All members of my VU team were outstanding. I have not bought a home since 1995, and I must say, VU has made the process as stress-free as I could have hoped.
