I was never asked before the process began if I had money to pay for the inspection, appraisal, earnest money, or closing costs. These costs should be explained to people before they even apply for a mortgage.
Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our experience with Veterans United. It is such a beneficial resource for veterans and active-duty service members, and we are incredibly grateful it exists. While we would have found a way, having Veterans United made the entire home-buying process feel like a true blessing for my husband and me. Also the guidance, support, and care we received from the team provided to us were truly amazing, and we are so thankful for the people who helped walk us through every step of the process.
