My parents couldn’t never afford to own a house and here I am in my living room. My living room! Growing up in apartments and moving every few year and now I have a house. Stable house that I own. Words can’t describe how good this feel. The team have been awesome and even with the Covid crisis going on they didn’t miss a beat. Wanted to know where did I get my money that was in the bank, this was none of their business. Wanted to see my withdrawal slips which was none of their business. I had three legitimate monthly incomes... Social Security which I could have lived off of and pay my mortgage with no problem, pension plan from the state and my annuity account which I had six and a half more years of payments coming to me and show them legitimate proof of my monthly receipts and a paper from the company showing them what I make per year and what I still have coming to me and they still had trouble and figuring this out for some reason which held things up. I feel I was put through so much aggravation and trying to prove all my monthly incomes. I'm not pointing the finger at anyone but I had enough of this harassment which I thought was harassment and gave me some stress.

Having to answer additional questions about bank deposits, withdrawals, and income sources can feel overwhelming when you're trying to move forward with such an important purchase.
While certain financial documentation is required as part of the mortgage process, it's important that borrowers feel informed about why information is being requested and confident that their concerns are being addressed along the way. Mallory was awesome, she really went all out all the time for me.
We had a bit of an unusual situation, but she said she could do it, and she DID!
Everyone has been incredibly helpful and polite, and the whole experience went smoother than butter. I was skeptical about the company at first because they asked for some personal information in order to receive a quote, so I naturally gave some bogus answers just to fill in the required slots. Our loan officer called us, and between him and his team, our minds were put at ease. We went from living on a pretend street called "Nunya Business" to closing on our first home. When my husband's orders were put on hold due to SARS-CoV-2, the company was with us every step of the way to make sure we were doing okay. They knew between the limbo with PCS orders and me still working as a nurse, our family was under a bit of stress (as are most others around the world). They sent our family board games to keep us entertained and connected while we were at home as the world went crazy around us. The entire experience has been great, and the team was with us every single step of the way. Veteran's United even supported our decision to get quotes from other lenders as well. After feeling like "just a number" with NFCU, we stuck with Veteran's United because it felt like we were being taken care of like family. If you're on the fence, don't be. Veteran's United is amazing, and we don't regret our decision even for a second!

Joel Smith was absolutely the best i have ever worked with. His communication skills were absolutely perfect and he did not push us in anyway.
