We always shied away from what we thought we knew about a VA loan, nervous about all of the red tape. We are witness now that Veterans United can do it all - a seamless, well designed, turn key operation whose goals matched ours, step by step by step. It would be our hope that other Veterans allow VU to serve them, not so much through a perfect journey, but a high road supported through knowledge, trust, friendship, education and mutual goal of serving those who have served.

Veterans United made the home buying process for us first time home buyers very easy! They helped us with everything along the way, including setting us up with a realtor in the area we were looking in! They stayed on top of everything and made sure that we were prepared for everything along the way! I love how everything can be done online, the to-do list made things so much easier for me, being able to see what still needs to be done and what has been completed in such a user-friendly fashion. I don’t have any other company to compare them to, but we had such a great experience that I’m sure if we ever buy another home, Veteran’s United will have our business again!

Outstanding Team. Team really cares about us. This is are second house purchase with them and will use them on the next house. Great job to everyone.

Tyler helped me through a lot with the home buying process. He even filled in the gaps when our realtor couldn’t or wouldn’t. Get this man a steak dinner immediately. You owe one to Austin Bickmeyer as well. He’s amazing too

Phil Stroessner- He always seemed like he was reluctant to work with me especially after I told him I didn't have the money to pay for the appraisal and he told me it would be "coming out of his pocket" from that point he always seemed short and rude with his responses.
Trenton Monnig- talked to the guy once the entire time on the phone and responded to one email he sent other than that he wouldn't call me back after multiple attempts to get ahold of him in the beginning and after not hearing back I had to seek answers from Phil and my real state agent Sonja so if it isn't his job description to answer phones then he should tell everyone when he first talks to them.
*Other than those issues I had a somewhat pleasant experience, I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon though. Lol I plan on staying here at this house you guys helped me buy for the rest of my life.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Tracy,
Thank you for laying all of that out—it means a lot that you’d take the time to share such detailed feedback. I’m really sorry your experience with our team left you feeling dismissed and unheard, especially at a time when you were doing everything you could to make homeownership work. You should never feel like you’re being judged for asking questions or needing support during what can already be a stressful process.
It’s also frustrating to hear how hard it was to get a response when you needed one. Communication—especially early on—is so important, and I’m sorry we didn’t step up the way we should have. I know you said you don’t plan on doing this again anytime soon (understandably!), but I truly hope if you ever do, you walk away feeling supported from day one.
If you’re open to it, feel free to reach out at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, but get in touch whenever it works best for you.
And congrats on the new home—wishing you all the best in your forever place.

Extremely patient and helpful for my first homebuying experience

Our loan team worked so hard to help us get our loan, and I appreciate them so much.

Overall Review of Veterans United:
From start to finish, Veterans United exceeded every expectation. They didn’t just help us buy a house — they helped us start the next chapter of our family’s life. Every interaction felt personal and sincere, and their whole team made sure we always felt like a priority. As a veteran, it means a lot when a company goes above and beyond to honor that service — and Veterans United truly did. I would absolutely recommend them to any fellow service member or veteran looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and compassionate team.

Alright so this is my 2nd time reviewing Veterans United, 2nd time working with Aaron McMahon’s team, and 2nd time I don’t have enough words to say how amazing they are! This team is incredible and I would recommend them to any Veteran who is looking to purchase a home. I’ve personally recommended many friends to this organization since buying my first house in 2021.When they say they are there to help you, they are THERE! They kept me up to date throughout the entire process and made everything incredibly easy on me and my family. Heck, Aaron even made himself available on a random Saturday afternoon to ensure I was able to get a bid in on the house we just closed on. I don’t believe there is another organization who cares this much about military members and their families. When I joined the Army back in 2015 my wife and I would talk about finally having our forever home. With the help of VU, and Aaron and his team we did exactly that.

Very good customer service and great communication

As a first time home buyer, the whole process was so foreign to me. But Dan, Erica, and the whole team I worked with at Veterans United made my home buying experience smooth and easy!

Had a great experience 10/10
