Overall, it was great working with VU. The portal provides ease in exchanging documents and conducting e-signatures. Also provides you a to-do list that is easier to accomplish compared to other home loan portal platform. The home buying concierge was a huge plus, never had that before and it was very helpful especially for transitioning veterans. The only thing I was disappointed in was the loan servicing can vary since your loan might be sold elsewhere but I do understand that from an enterprise perspective. Otherwise, I was very satisfied with the loan and home buying process with VU and I don’t see why I wouldn’t finance or refinance a home loan with them in the future.
O my goodness everyone was PHENOMENAL!!! Even when I was overwhelmed with this process everyone was so KIND & PATIENT most of professional that is important even when I had a few meltdowns. So YES I would recommend you guys and it was meant to be the other organization that I was recommended doesn’t even measure Everyone on my team made this a PLEASANT process for me, with that I say y THANK YOU, I am a homeowner!!!!

My biggest negative was the actual loan approval and underwriter process. I feel that I could have provided all the requested info weeks prior to when they were requested. but instead everything felt very "down to the wire" to get it approved prior to closing (1-2 days prior to closing it was approved). It made the process extremely stressful towards the end, although I was optimistic about it being approved, based on my past and current finances. I even gave the team a heads up on what deposits I would be receiving via my work, the dates and amounts, but was still asked to verify last minute and explain them. And I was told by one mortgage specialist that I wouldn't need to provide further info on my current mortgage/rental proprty based on my income, but then was later asked to provide it, again, seemingly last minute. Ultimately i got the loan and rate I wanted, but the process seemed a bit disconjointed with the number of reps I was working with.
I, of course, appreciate the hard work and the great attitudes of the Veterans United crew, but what is rare when working with lenders these days, I trust Veterans United and its crew.
Great experience with VU. The portal was easy to use and most importantly, Hanna and Amanda were awesome.
