Very transparent and hard working.

As first time home-buyers we absolutely loved your service from top to bottom. You made us feel comfortable every step of the way and took the time to answer all of our questions. We will be keeping in touch! It feels good to have someone with your experience and knowledge on our side.

From what I have gather Veterans United is a lot like the VA disability shark companies out there. They will help you get an extra 10% but will take 9% of it.
Throughout the whole process I was told fees and prices would be one thing for it to change and go up every week. Then at the very end days before closing I was told I had to cancel my current insurance policy costing me thousands in rate hikes I wouldn't have been subjected to for months, huge hassle.
I own cropland with my parents, and for 3 weeks I spent explaining what it was, and somehow a company based in rural America has no idea what a crop field was or how it works. 3 weeks I spent writing explanations to be told I didn't provide enough info so I rewrite it just how Rhiannon O'Neil wants it. Then it gets kicked back to rewrite again because there's to much information. In the end I am writing the same information I originally put and this time it works.
Not once during all of this writing and rewriting did Rhiannon O'Neil ever call to discuss any of this on the phone to maybe make understanding easier. I will say this for Dustin if there was something he wasn't sure about he reached out over the phone and asked, and in the end it usually made sense.
Additionally I had to completely redo my insurance for Veterans United. Since I had to cancel my old policy I was subjected to a rate increase that I wouldn't have had to worry about until August. In the end costing me thousands of dollars.
Dustin Prenger and Candace Dutcher, were the only think that kept me from cancelling the whole thing. Even if it meant moving the closing date or the house I was close multiple times. I would be more than happy to speak to there supervisors to help with a promotion or rewards package for them.
Overall I am extremely dissatisfied with Veterans United and will not be recommending them to any veterans or using this service again.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Seth,
I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. It sounds like the process was incredibly frustrating, and I can completely understand why you feel dissatisfied. Buying a home is already a stressful journey, and it’s clear there were moments where we didn’t deliver the level of service or communication you deserved. For that, I’m truly sorry.
I want to thank you for sharing your feedback and for recognizing Dustin and Candace’s efforts. It’s great to hear they were able to provide the support and communication you needed during such a challenging process. I’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to their supervisors—it means a lot to know that their efforts made a difference for you.
I’d also really like to learn more about the challenges you faced, especially regarding the back-and-forth on documentation and the insurance changes. It’s important to us to understand where we fell short so we can improve for future veterans. If you’re open to it, I’d love for you to reach out to my Client Advocate team at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re here Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, but we’re happy to follow up if you reach out after hours.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and I’m sorry we didn’t meet your expectations.

Incredible service performed by incredible people. 10 out of 10 all the way. =)

We've gone through the vA loan process before and while it does have its benefits it was a daunting undertaking. VU made all of that go away and was the most simple home buying experience we've gone through. Would definitely recommend

The VU team we have is amazing. From start to finish of a difficult journey for us. We had plenty of uncertainty around our home sale and the impact that had on our home purchase. The team really helped us through the process and ensured the transaction went smoothly

5 stars to everyone involved in my loan process! James, Torri, Ashley, Lauren, and anyone else I forgot. Thank you, team!!!

Veterans United made my Home Buying Journey an absolute breeze. They made sure everything was in order and done correctly!

I never thought I would ever be able to buy a home. I've had credit issues in the past, but I got those straightened out and improved my choices. Next thing you know I'm able to purchase a home, quite easily I might add. Through Veterans United.

The process can be confusing for those of us who are not well versed on how everything works. It can be very difficult to understand. The only suggestion I would make, because the website with the to do list helps a lot, is to gather all the data first, all the documentation, and then set the closing date 30 days out, just in case there are any issues, or any further documentation is needed. I know it can be unpredictable, but it seems the standard two weeks out just is not enough; therefore it has to be extended over and over again. In order to ensure the process runs smoothly, I think a standard 30 days would be a lot better. I also think that getting all necessary documentation before the process is even initiated would be better as well, thank you.

I found the home buying experience with Veterans United to be very simple. When I had questions they were answered immediately. The market for the home that I purchased was very competitive and required prompt action to make it happen. They were right here every step of the way. I also found their interest rates to be competitive.
