AJ and Austin were a great team and helped out so ‘much! My buying experience was hectic to say the least (seller decided after we went in contract to file bankruptcy and really threw a huge wrench into the mix) and they were able to adapt and overcome.

I just want to provide my deepest sense of gratitude to you with a huge thank you for working with me these past few months. You have helped make a lifelong dream of mine come true; owning my own home. Even when I called or texted well after business hours you were always responsive and courteous to my concerns. You made this loan process much smoother and less stressful than I could have imagined.

My home buying experience with Veterans United was Great from the beginning to the end! !!

Communication was great but the process was a nightmare some not on my lenders hands others yea, sellers almost bailed due to no fault of my own just how long and painful this process became for them as well. Staff was friendly but again, nightmare that stressed me way out.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Christian,
I appreciate you sharing both sides of your experience. I’m glad to hear communication with the team felt good and that the staff was friendly, but I’m sorry the process itself became such a stressful and drawn-out ordeal for you and even for the sellers. I know how exhausting it can feel when delays stretch on, especially when you’ve done everything on your end.
That’s not the way we want veterans and their families to feel when working with Veterans United. If you’d like to talk more about what happened, I’d welcome the chance to listen and learn from your experience. You can reach my team at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday.
Excellent teamwork from Veterans United. They are the absolute best mortgage company to work with. This is the second time I have had the pleasure of getting a mortgage with them and both times were great experiences....I highly recommend!!

As a veteran diving into homeownership, the VA Home Loan program has been a solid option, and I’m thrilled with how it worked out for me. Here’s my take, focusing on communication, ease of the loan process, and the knowledge of the team I worked with.
Communication: 4/5
The communication with my lender and the VA was mostly clear and responsive. My lender kept me in the loop about what documents I needed, like my Certificate of Eligibility , and walked me through the funding fee . They were quick to answer my questions about rates and terms, which helped me feel confident. However, there were a couple of moments when I had to follow up to get updates on the appraisal, which felt a bit slow. A little more proactive outreach from the team would’ve made it perfect.Ease of Loan Process: 4.5/5
The VA loan process was surprisingly smooth for such a big purchase. Not needing a down payment was a huge relief, and skipping private mortgage insurance kept my monthly payments manageable. Getting the COE was simple through the VA’s online portal, and the paperwork, while detailed, wasn’t overwhelming. The appraisal took a bit longer than I expected, and I had to make sure the house met VA’s property standards, which ruled out one home I liked. Still, the streamlined process and clear steps made buying my first home way less stressful than I thought it’d be.
Knowledge of Team: 4.5/5
The lender’s team knew the VA loan program inside and out, which gave me confidence. They explained how the VA’s backing meant lower interest rates (mine was noticeably better than conventional quotes) and walked me through options like rolling the funding fee into the loan. They also clarified how to navigate seller concerns—some were wary of VA loans due to appraisal myths, but my realtor and lender handled it like pros. The only hiccup was a junior team member who seemed less familiar with specific VA requirements, but the senior staff stepped in quickly to sort it out.
Overall Experience: 4.5/5
The VA Home Loan made buying my home achievable, with no down payment, no PMI, and competitive rates. Communication was solid, though I’d love more consistent updates. The process was easy for a first-timer like me, and the team’s expertise carried me through, despite a few minor bumps. The funding fee and occasional seller pushback were drawbacks, but the benefits far outweigh them. I’d highly recommend the VA loan to any eligible vet or service member—just pick a lender who specializes in VA loans to make it even smoother.

I wish there would be someone to answer on the weekends.

To describe the process in 2 words. Smooth & Easy! Thanks, Veterans United!

I'd just like to thank Daniel and Lauren, our dream team, because they went above and beyond for us to make sure we got into our dream home. Any question I had no matter how crazy it may have been they were always there to answer them. Thank you Daniel Heggarty and Lauren Pusateri from the bottom of my heart for putting me and my family into our home.

Very smooth, seamless process! Every employee treated us royally. A lot of communication with us and they kept our wonderful realtor in the loop. Wet signing was minimal because most of the paperwork were signed electronically. I would highly recommend Veterans United Home Loans to those wanting to use their VA home loan benefit.

This was so much easier than I expected. Veterans United set us up with a realtor on both ends, one helping us buy a home and one to help us sell our home .
I admit, my wife and I really didn't know that much about buying a home, Veterans United explained everything to us.
We were able to purchase the home of our dreams because of Veterans United.
