Overall, a 10! The only thing I would suggest is to make sure that the final closing documents are finalized before the moment of closing! That was extremely annoying! Show up expecting to pay one thing and all of the sudden; nope you must pay this! Also, please fix the issue about having to constantly having to get the DocuSign reset. Every time my Loan team would send me something it would say that my session had timed out and to reverify. Well there is no place or link to do that!
Andrea Rice and Shelbi Kinney were able to pull off a seemingly impossible dream for my family. My credit history was less than ideal, and even though there was a great deal of manual underwriting required to get us to closing table, they did it in 27 days! They were very communicative and transparent through the whole process. When Shelbi called to give me the clear to close, she was literally crying because she was so happy. The whole process was disorganized and messy. I had to call multiple times to ensure things were getting done and submitted on time. I also got 3 different quotes on rates and paperwork was getting messed up and had multiple errors on loan estimates. I felt very stressed and unsure if we were going to close in time because the communication wasn’t there like it should have been and I had to continually call and check in to ensure numbers made sense and things were being done in time. As a veteran who earned this benefit I highly regret using the VA home loan with VA. I believe it would have been a much smoother process through any other lender.
There were some things that we wanted to know when interested in a house and we didn't get that info. Our daughter and son in law went VA loan and they h ad all their info before purchase. I would never use Veterans United again because of that. The people were great and helped us understand the process as being new home buyers.
