From the first phone call I made to Veterans United, Joe and his team jumped into action on my loan approval and notifying me immediately of approval. VU's team is efficient and aggressive to the finish insuring the highest quality in customer service to our veterans. Prompt, courteous and professional people who make you feel there with you every step of the way and in your corner. Even with all my questions or concerns VU sincerely answered all of them and assured me all aspects for the best loan was being done. For m y first VA experience I'm very proud to have had VU on my side.
Any time I hear people talk about buying a home, i mention veterans united. Its been very easy every time from the using the app, to communication with the team throughout the entire process.

Experience first-hand why 373,718 homeowners give us a perfect score!
John and the team were wonderful. They helped me with any question no matter how "ridiculous" I thought it was!
I am very pleased with how easy the process was, and how quickly everything moved, in the short time we had available to get our home!
Overall, a 10! The only thing I would suggest is to make sure that the final closing documents are finalized before the moment of closing! That was extremely annoying! Show up expecting to pay one thing and all of the sudden; nope you must pay this! Also, please fix the issue about having to constantly having to get the DocuSign reset. Every time my Loan team would send me something it would say that my session had timed out and to reverify. Well there is no place or link to do that!
Horrible experience. The most disorganized process I have ever been a part of. We were misled the entire time. We were assigned a loan officer that was going to be in vacation throughout the whole process and our file was given to the most incompetent person who didn’t even have the licenses or education to guide us through. We Given a close date, told the process was going smoothly, told we were pretty much wrapped up and to go ahead and give our notice on our current place then proceeded to drag their feet and close date causing our family immense stress and without a clear place to live. If I had to go back, I would NEVER go through them again and I absolutely will NOT RECOMMEND.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Christian,
I’m really sorry to hear how stressful this experience was for you and your family. Buying a home should feel exciting and supported, not confusing or overwhelming, and it’s disappointing to hear that the process felt disorganized and left you uncertain about where things stood.
It’s especially concerning to hear that you felt misled about the progress of your loan and your expected closing date. I understand how upsetting it must have been to give notice on your current home based on those expectations, only to have the timeline change and create uncertainty about your living situation. That’s a difficult position for any family to be in, and I’m truly sorry for the stress this caused.
I’d really like the opportunity to learn more about what happened and review your experience with our team. Feedback like this is important, and having the chance to look into the details helps us address situations where communication or expectations may not have been handled as clearly as they should have been.
If you’re open to it, please reach out to me or the Client Advocate team at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday, and if you contact us outside those hours we’ll typically follow up the next business day.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager

Jake was awesome
These guys are AWESOME. Very professional. They made this process truly enjoyable.
Our loan officer, Matt Istwan, was awesome. He went over & beyond all expectations we had. Matt was always professional, courteous, and knowledgeable during the entire process. I can't thank Matt enough for his help with financing our home, he made such a difference during a very stressful home search.
Our experience with VU was nothing short of amazing. Cole & Katie guided us every step of the way. Their knowledge, professionalism and communication made the process pleasurable. We are very impressed and grateful to this team! I would recommend VU to all veterans looking to purchase a home.
Veterans United (VU) made the purchase of our new home as easy as possible. Any delays with the purchase were with the builder, and VU kept us informed through the entire process via text, email, and phone calls. My online MVU account was a great tool.A big shout out to Toby and Zach for making our home purchase a smooth and easy process.
